HA! I attended MANY GWAR shows in the late 80's early 90s. I have a chunk of "intestine" buried somewhere in my collections of ephemera.
RIP ODERUS URUNGUS

On a related note, this is KEPONE, another of his bands... very differnet than GWAR, but I really love them.

Heard this on the radio this morning as I was riding to work on only a couple hours' sleep... it was exactly the thing to soothe my sleep deprived delirium.
Lo-fi, down tempo, a wee bit funky.
Sweet tune.

OK every now and then an artist comes along that shifts the ground beneath the feet... We just had Jason Isbell on Saturday with his band The 400 Unit. His songwriting is SO sharp and his musicianship is top notch- and his band is GREAT.

If I had to slot him into any category, I might choose alt country or American roots... call it whoever you want but do check him out. My personal ground has been shifted permanently by his sincere and thoughtful songs, lovely melodies, and deep musical aesthetic.

On a side note, his entire crew from management on down, are lovely & super capable people. Posting 2 versions of this song, both are well worth your time.
EDIT: Jason Isbell is a former member of the band the Drive By Truckers

Tired Of Traveling Alone

Here's Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit from 4 days ago (8/25/21) doing a Charlie Watts Tribute encore. When we had them they played Gimme Shelter.

Day 7 since Charlie passed away, Seven days into my Rolling Stones library (much more to go). Just got home from a long stay with an ill family member. Kinda shocked not to see more mention of Mr. Watts here. Maybe everyone is still in shock, the Brits have lost a National Treasure and the rest of the world has lost a very fine, talented, true gentleman.

Godspeed Charlie
