Any one who still thinks that NYC doesnt have a motorcycle culture would certainly be surprised at how prevalent it is ...

I had to drop my 72 Bonneville at a location for a shoot tomorrow in Brooklyn . I also had an invite to meet up with a friend and his girlfriend at a bike night event.... So I decided to dig out the TT Special and get the juices flowing in its veins ...

Tuesday night is bike night at one place then Wednesday at another place and Thursday has a new bike night that someone is trying to get kicked off as well... Those are just in Brooklyn and all have a different flavor... Mostly at or outside a bar or restaurant ... This one tonight was a surprise to me cause it was at a place where they have been presenting classic movies during the Pandemic as a drive-in, in this huge parking lot.... I turned up at 7:30 ... My friends were already there on his Triumph and there was also some Jeep club contingency too. A band was playing and they were selling beers out of a cooler and there was a food truck too.... Weren't many vintage bikes though and I was too busy talking to take many photos but . there were some old BMWs as well as our old Triumphs.... A few of the new Royal Enfields were looking pretty sharp... Everyone else was on modern appliances with loud stereos and or fat tires with speed racer jockeys.....

Good Times...... I hope they continue to have the event...

A few photos

This was just one direction .... Double this many bikes behind me too

Beautiful spot!!! (For a city, at any rate.) Breathtaking skyline!

Was the panoramic shot done with a tripod?

Re: oil spots, you guys did check the oil tank anway, just to play it safe, right? 🙂

Hopefully, all avoided the temptation to do burnouts on that pristine, ivory concrete.

The tea coffee stall would have done well.

No tripod ... The iPhone is amazing.. That was their "pano" (panoramic) mode... I use that alot... What did happen is ... when I got there my right side petcock lever broke off .. In the on position thankfully... I rode it back to my garage after the even and couldnt turn it off so it started leaking the next day... Smelled like gas in the garage so had to drain the tank before someone complained... Now I need a new petcock... Id like to find and old working one with a screen like I had.. Do they make new ones with screens? I need to start looking

Always like your photography!
Don't know about screens on petcocks these days, I bought a few pairs about ten years back when building up my parts stash for the day I moved. Sooooooo........ten years later as I take Penny out of the shipping container here in Hawai'i, the main side petcock was leaking badly as well. Had to find the petcock box that day in my storage unit just to get riding- the van hadn't arrived in port yet. So I finally found it in that box over there under those things just below that really big box of heavy things. Pulled out the 10 year old new in the box main petcock, installed it and cured that leak. As a matter of fact, it cured it so well that absolutely no gas flows from that petcock. Been running on a closely watched tank and the reserve side petcock ever since!

Two weeks in a row I was able to make the Two Wheel Tuesday meet out in Brooklyn... Triumph is down temporarily till I can install the new Petcocks and I hadnt fired up the BSA Spitfire in about 6 months so I really wanted to ride that one.... Put some gas in the tank and turned the key and it fired right up....

This time I may have been one of the only vintage bike there but my friends from Sixth Street Specials lived a few blocks from 18th Ward Brewery and they were going to walk over...

I made some new friends as well who have old Britbikes.... I didnt even get my helmet off before I was in several conversations... Had to break away to get a beer... Geesh .... Good beer though... Went for the Tricycle Pilsner which everyone said was their best beer... It was tasty..
