Has anyone found a common source for the reduced Hex 1/4 - 28 thread nuts that are required on the ‘70 TR6 intake manifold studs? I guess I was trying not to over tighten them, and have lost 1 of the 4. Drat! A local supplier here that often comes through in situations like this came up empty. Like a fool, I’ve been getting rid of stuff, and the can of random hardware that saved me time and again was designated surplus……. That happens in a “get rid of it frenzy”.

Hi KC, Ace hardware sells 1/4-28 coupling nuts with 3/8 hex.. You’ll have to shorten then, and the end is not beveled like originals.
End of day if you want original look you need to get nuts from parts sellers. Bonneville shop sells set of 4 $10 free shipping.
Hardly more costly than hardware store.
If you don’t cate about looks just get 1. They are in the little drawers above the bulk bolts. Coupling nuts is what they are called on drawer.

Not to start flooding David Madigan (at post TOP) with requests for help, I will venture a comment that he has posted some incredible project machining efforts here, and can be very informative regarding Trans and Clutch issues. So that’s the Dave mentioned in Thanks!

Thanks for the P/N John, likely will put together an order for those. I expect CBS Here in California I would have them.
