Another data point.
I can see the images when the post is in the Active Threads view (as in the latest post), but they become broken links when I click Read More.

No rush, I put a link in my post, so the o.p. and any other reader can simply click on that to see the item and image.

The word Lucas is used as an active link

Instead of hotlinking images to other site its better to create a text link or upload the image direct to britbike server.

When hotlinking to other sites it will only be visible as long as the image stays there or until they decide to disable hotlinking.

Stuart

What you are doing is "borrowing" an image from another website when adding an img tag and pointing to another servers image.
in this case the link gets corrupted as one word "Lucas" in that link is occupied for another purpose here on britbike so image link gets corrupted.

When using another servers image here on britbike one needs first to be sure its a secure image from a https connection.
second it draws broadband from the other server. third the other server may have copyright rules for their content.
forth the other server may delete the image anytime and then its gone anyway.

Therefor if its good to see the image here on britbike then its better to upload it to our server.
In order to do that I one needs to go from basic to premium/gold/life membership. it costs $24/year.

The reason I have this setting is that our forum grows a lot with all the attachment images and files.
Over the years it has been expensive to less expensive to run large websites however another reason is that
I need to be on top of security also and there is a difference between paying and non paying members.
I have yet to see any serious issue coming from a paying member.

About the link here is one

Link to image

I used the Use full editor for my reply and "Insert url" icon [Linked Image] and enclosed the image url and the "Link to image" name
