Just wondering if anybody out there has much experience with the new Enfield Interceptor? The more I ride my 2017 T100 the less I like it.

I don't own one ...yet. But I've heard generally positive things about them.

I think the real test will be when they start to need parts and service: will there be any ???

I get what you are saying but the fact that your garage/workshop is already full is irrelevant. The question is...would you buy one or as you stated, "Would I buy one?" is a yes or no question, which is best answered with a yes or no answer. This is based on your experience with the machine and aside from the fact you have a full garage and if you were a prospective buyer in the market for a new bike of this type.

I must make a point of getting to their booth at Barber before I've had too many for a test ride.
Looks like a nice bike if you get rid of those ugly, over large silencers.
Put some peashooters on it and I'll take it home.

I've not been on one at all BUT our very own Kent Shaun can give you some feedback on his, I bet. You might send him a PM and ask how he's liking it, pretty sure he's all go on the new Enfield Interceptor.

For my own money, IF I was in the market for a newer medium displacement motorbike, I'd surely consider one of these. As it stands, I still want my "newer" bike(s) to be big sport tourers. A bike of this ilk is close enough to my classic bikes that I feel it'd be somewhat redundant.

Hello; what is the problem of the T100? I still do not get it why they still offer the T100 and the almost identical T120. What is the point to buy the T100 instead the T120?

Seems RE will lunch a 350cc version of the Interceptor. The single 350 is a machine only to go into town.
The GT 650 have more guts than the Interceptor.

MikeG, had my Interceptor a year now and LOVE it, only just done about 2900 miles on it, all due to the plague and not being allowed out. BUT that's going to change this year....

I bought the machine to use as a 'Touring' bike, it's nice and nimble and does silly MPG, I was out on it this weekend and clocked over 80mpg. Although I don't ride it at silly speeds, and remember that's our proper English gallons, so if you can convert this.... 127 miles 7.30ltrs....That's what I did...

Only down side is the bloody seat, they seem to have a reputation, SOME have said to wear them in. But after the first 1000 miles I just had to get it sorted, it was like sitting on a brick, found a place that could reupholster the original base, and now I'm happy. I also feel that there are to many gears in the gearbox, seems you're forever changing gears. That could just be me though...

Other than them points, I can't moan about anything else on the bike, in fact this very Friday I'll be loading it up and going camping. That yarn will be on a screen near y'all soon, go take a test ride you'll be surprised how good these bikes are. A brand new bike for second hand money, what's not to like...

The T100 has all the handling attributes of a Mack truck. I bought it because I wanted something a bit lighter for everyday commuting than my Suzuki Bandit, but after riding any of my other bikes the Triumph is a bit of a disappointment. I am also on my third battery in 4 years despite it being on a tender all winter long. Been to the dealer about it twice and not really satisfied with their level of service so off it goes. I may not even replace it with anything, my daily commute is much less now and the BSA works just fine.

MikeG, by the way to *Test* out my sorted seat, one day soon I'll be riding the bike down to St Just in Cornwall, getting a couple of Pasties, then riding the bike back home. All in one day, I'm guessing around 15hrs and most likely over 600 miles. THAT Yarn will be on a screen near y'all soon as well.....

Did such a ride when I first awoke the Guzzi from it's 23yrs in a damp garage, although that was up to Blackpool and back, and I only had Fish & Chips at the bottom of the Blackpool tower then....

In the meantime me and the Prospect are off to Scotland in June, him on the Himalayan and me on the Interceptor, a yarn for that may be...ect ect...

If you are looking for a modern bike with retro styling, you might consider the Kawasaki Z900rs. I have a 2018 and absolutely love it. Quick without being overwhelming, handles like on rails, great brakes. Light and easy to maneuver. Bit more spendy than the RE but delivers much more and quality is top notch.

A good friend of mine has a Velo Venom and a 2017 Triumph.
Last year he bought a RE Interceptor.
He loves it and prefers it to the Triumph.

I have heard nothing but good reports on them, an old styled
simple air cooled 50hp bike with the modern odds and sods.

Keep an eye out on your local Craig's List. I've seen a few of these with very low mileage for sale by people who thought they could still comfortably ride the bikes of their youth.
You might find a "new" one at a considerable discount.

Mike, come on down! Cycles of Silver Spring let me do a test ride of their REs a few years ago when I buddy was writing a review on the Bullets. Or if you want to just buy one from them, I'll be happy to ride store it at my place until you can pick it up!

One parked next to my BSA last weekend a TWOs.

1) It looks a bit shorter than the 64 Lightning Rocket.
2) The cylinder barrel is not very tall so it's a short stroke twin?
3) Graham Foster says they were selling a LOT of them.
4) Reminds me a bit of the new Triumphs - over built or perhaps just right?
5) Didn't leak any oil.
6) Anybody racing them?

Yes Bill, Johnny Lewis #10 is racing one in AFT. Won a race at the end of last season. Going to be in action this weekend in Atlanta

...hi HTown70; there is no retro in those Kawasaki s. All modern stuff and performance. Why retro; because do not have horrendous fairings? because looks like a motorcycle and not a bird or an insect?

Hi Nickel; the interceptor actually cannot deliver 50HP; in fact only the continental GT delivers power and feeling similar to the T140s.

I doubt many t140's produce 50hp without some modifications.

...did not said that. I say that the Interceptor does not deliver 50HP and that the feeling and power of the Continental GT is similar to a T140.

I've ridden the new RE. It is much more motorcycle-like than the more pasteurized modern WC Triumphs. You can feel the engine pulses, as one should. The stock cans are too large IMO but they produce a nice sound. Though my ride was short I came away liking it quite a bit.

One of my 'reliable' bikes is an 865 Bonneville. Beautiful to look at, decent to ride but too heavy IMO and certainly not nimble. I think the RE INTerceptor is a bit more fun to ride. I just can't bring myself to part with the Bonnie for what would be a mostly lateral move to the INTerceptor.

Triumph lost me with the WC twins. I can't disagree they are 'better' in most ways than the AC model I have but they've also lost a lot of their character. And the price...!

I'll try to stay sober until I can test ride one at Barber this year.

Good value in the UK and the electric starter is useful for many. Not at the top of my shopping list though.
