Did someone actually draw them or was there some other way to make them? This was way before CAD and computers.

When I was a draftsman for a heavy equipment manufacturer 40 years ago, "drawn by hand' was the ONLY way.

They should have signed them, they are works of art. I have the "exploded Triumph engine" enlarged to about 2'X3' framed and hanging on my garage wall. Maybe I should move it inside.

I have studied BSA and Triumph catalogue parts drawings as part of my drawing skill development process through the years. Not to mention some of the great illustrations of stories and adverts in the bike mags of the day. Guess I prefer to stay in that period before what we have today. I sometimes wonder what other artistic ventures those folks were part of.

Back then many of the engineers started out as draftsmen.
