I would think there's a good chance the Triumph T140 tank from the mid 70's will fit on an OIF A65, but I'm aware the central 'void' that fits over the frame is a different shape, and the fuel taps are almost certainly placed differently.
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks

Yes, I use a triumph bread bin type, the peanut type also fits, the top tube and mounting bolt bracket are the same, use the triumph frame rubbers and centre bolt/ rubbers/ spacers to make it fit.

Hi Allan, Interested to know why you classify those particular tanks as Harris tanks?

Hi Allan, Interested to know why you classify those particular tanks as Harris tanks? Only because the only time I have seen them has been fitted to Harris Bonnevilles.... but I don’t see too many oif triumphs if I’m honest.

Only because the only time I have seen them has been fitted to Harris Bonnevilles.... but I don’t see too many oif triumphs if I’m honest. I was curious because that particular tank style was used on certain models starting in the 1981 model year. Not knowing really anything about Harris Triumphs, I thought they all came with the U.S. spec. 1973 on T140 tanks until I researched the Harris Triumphs regarding this thread. So, I learned something new! Thank Allan

No worries Jon, my triumph knowledge is dreadful. We see some old triumphs on the road but usually dry frame models the only OIFs I see are on Facebook, the A65 with such tank was in Oz the other year, I was told it was a Harris tank, I google harris bonneville and that’s as far as I got, they could have been Meriden tanks also but I wouldn’t have known.
By the way. That front guard I had off you came out good, the dent came out pretty easy after braving it up following a YouTube video on such a thing. Sent it to the chromer and it looks real sweet now.

Hi Stuart, No, I hadn't seen that thread prior to your pointing it out to me, thank you. Cheers
