1929 BSA Sloper.... Mostly there it seems but also mostly in boxes....

The bottom end is still together but should be taken apart and checked out. May or may not have the right piston... Everything but the fenders have been plated , painted or otherwise cleaned up... Still have to get the bike and boxes out of the basement and stay on him about the title but its paid for , so its mine.

Here it is the last time it was semi together.

And the BSA advertisment of a complete bike

Its still buried in a basement in Brooklyn so I cant double check the numbers until I dig it out when the piles of snow are gone. (no parking and miserable carrying heavy boxes and pushing a bike through) . Its supposed to be a 29 but several things that I remember about it tells me that it might be a 1930... I-beam frame for one. Mag dated 1930 or 31 ? Front fender looks more 1930 as well... Numbers will tell.

I think the first two digits of the engine number usually denote the model year at least on the '30 sloper a friend has it is marked as such.

Reminds me of a saying I hear every now and then. "You can get anything you want in New York" In this case Brooklyn

But this experience could only happen elsewhere

Oh really? I once did a gig at the NYC Athletic Club. Went out on dinner break but I couldn't find a Peyton Manning jersey anywhere. laughing
Not even an Atlanta Braves cap.

I-Beam started on the 1930 models, whose sales commenced in August 1929
I had one (S30-13), excellent bike
