Just got an e-mail notifying me that my photo Hosting site, PictureTrail, is shutting down it's servers in less than 2 weeks. I really like the site, it's easy to use, relatively cheap, and ANYONE can go directly from one of my photos wherever I post it, and view the rest of that album, or my entire public collection. So, all the photos that I posted on this site (not using this site's upload/attach features) will soon simply display "Link Not Found" or "too bad, sucker, photo is gone". I'm not about to go back to a dozen forums and re-load THOUSANDS of photos. Sorry. GPZ

It's the modern world; we enjoy and sometimes get to depend on software platforms, have tons of photos or messages or data committed to them, and POOF; one day they decide to quadruple the price, or censor you for your beliefs, or just go out of business and they're gone.
Best to get used to it, or not be too highly invested or committed; it ain't gonna stop!

I got caught with Photobucket... About the same time, I opened my dual sport website. About $18/year, comes with 3GB photo storage. Thinking about an upgrade that will expand the storage and include video Hosting, all in the background of my DS site at wordpress.com

I've been using postimage ever since the photobucket hostage/kidnap situ. Been working quite good and easy, so far. And it's free!

imgur continues to be th emost useful Hosting site for me. the only problem with it is that there is no method of organizing images into albums. but its very quick to load or download images: ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/ustEVv5l.jpg)

Another one I used for a while was ImageShack, but it was very fiddly to use (although it did have the albums feature)

goats get my goat.
we got goats to keep the brush down. they ate my saplings instead.
so we got more goats to eat. then my kids named them and that went out the window.
so now we have goats, a twenty dollar donkey too old to ride, seventy gazillion cats, two dogs, a possum that eats chocolate chip cookies and a raccoon that likes mcdonalds apple pies.
chickens and a turkey.
im going to start raising burmese pythons just for a change

I think we will all find that the more people use photo Hosting sites the less free or cheap ones will be available. Even google images which used to be unlimited is now limited. You don't get owt for nowt. John

I suppose I could use iCloud, but the permanent solution would be to fire up my old SCSI drive tower and configure it with a permanent IP address.
It's not a bug, it's 'character.'
