Is taking over. I had to answer a dozen questions to post a question. There must be a better way.

Desco, I feel your pain
Our forum is often under attack
In order to avoid spammers, scammers, phishing and so on
we need to use what we can to avoid above.

Anyone can register as a basic member and use the forum. It’s in my and our members interest
that we keep it as clean as possible.

Upgraded members don’t have to identify themselves as non robots
This is because they have paid a premium membership so we know
That they are a legit person.

So one way for you maybe is to upgrade and at the same time support your favorite Britbike forum but its your choice not mine.

Thanks for your support

Second time in 24 hours I've had to agree to the forum rules terms and conditions!

Yep I was asked to inform members about the rules, it is the easiest way to ask members to agree. Then the rules came up for discussion and I just added two words so now I had to ask again.
it is not a big deal, it has only happened a few times over a twenty+ years period.
I'm sure you you have to agree to several other license agreements as the terms change overtime.

Cheers
morgan

Does anyone read all those terms !

Ebays terms would keep an army of lawyers busy for years decoding all that prattle.

Well, no, no one ever reads them, any more than they read the big "DO NOT REMOVE" tag on their bed mattress when they buy it, that has 1000 words of caution and legalese on it.

It's something that has to be done for the legal protection of the person providing the product or service. In my 28 year internet buying, selling, news-reading, and forum participation career, I've probably clicked on the "Do You Agree To These Terms?" 15,000 times to get access to something, and I've never read one word of any of them. And it's never come back to bite me. So there's not really much motivation to read the next one, any more than there's any motivation to take notes while the flight attendant is telling you about how your seat cushion can act as a flotation device in the event of a "water landing", or doing research on "This Product Is Known To The State Of California To Cause Cancer", IF you gnaw on the battery terminals.

Just part of modern life.

Lannis
