I saw a UK magazine article featuring the same bike as mine and thought a PO had placed the BSA transfer on this bike. When I checked the RH sidecover on my project, I could see a faint outline of the same BSA. So, can anyone shed any light on why these are different to the 1969 models (was it maybe an East or West coast thing?) and if there may be anywhere I could obtain the same transfer?

I have a '70, it's side-covers were chromed by a previous owner. I had two they look the same model from the states with the same tank, tank chrome wasn't good on this so I painted it all. They usually have a Firebird 650 scrambler sticker. But you could check images of them and see if any were like that. I've not seen that from the factory.

Thank you for your reply Mark. I'm still thinking maybe the FB's were sent out without stickers on RH side and the US agents stuck them on.. Weird thing is that the parts bin Fleetstar gas tank has no BSA either, but the Canadian FB's got the same gas tank as mine but with BSA transfers on it and with low Lightning style exhaust pipes!!

The BSA seems to be identical to the Starfire image, It might pay to order a decal and have one copied/sized to suit the panel you have.

Just cross reference the number with the listings page, I noticed at least one which showed a victor for a thunderbolt or something like that.
