The Scorpion YT9A batteries I have been using for many years now (not the same battery) have not been available for two months now and it is not known when they might become available again. The Motobatt equivalent is 50% more in cost for about the same thing. I hate to go back to a non-sealed battery. Are there any other options out there? I have searched the internet without much luck.

I would bite the bullet and go for the Motobatt MB9U; it's a very good battery. Best price I see is $63.93 from Amazon. I had a Scorpion before the Motobatt, and the Motobatt is holding up better. And the 11AH enables the battery to hold a charge longer when idling with the headlight on, like at stoplights.

Yuasa batteries have worked well for me. Motobatt appear to have a good reputation, although expensive.

Hi Desco, Overall hard to beat Motobatt. Be careful of Amazon & other sellers. They may have old stock, left discharged. That has been a problem. Then goes bad soon. Sending back to Motobatt, they can't stand behind warranty because not authorized seller. I don't know about counterfeit, but wouldn't surprise me. I & my friends order direct from Motobatt web site. battery comes in week or so to you home. Worth the higher price in my mind. MBU9 I'll only put sealed in my bike. Simple & clean. Zero overflow & most importantly, no corrosion. Don

Don, that's a valuable bit of advice about unauthorized dealers. I actually got my Motobatt from BatteryMart.com. I don't know if THEY'RE an authorized dealer, but the battery was OK and is holding up well after a couple of years. I wouldn't want to give desco a bum steer in directing him to Amazon.

I've had nothing but problems with Amazon. It took months to cancel my credit card and get out of their "free delivery" scam. I would not buy anything from them if it was free.
