Peter Green, of Fleetwood Mac, the man who introduced me to the Blues, has sadly passed away, he was a true guitarist of the old days, and a true legend of rock and blues.

I think that most of us have and it's not our fault but the powers that be that decided what we could and could not hear on the radio.

Fleetwood Mac's Back Magic Woman is one of all time favorite tunes That break is freakin COOL. Here's another great FM tune- Albatross, from 1969. Believe it or not, I actually just recently found out this tune is Fleetwood Mac!

Fleetwood Mac was a huge part of my life over the decades. They had some ups and downs in terms of what they were putting out, one or two regrettable moments- but overall they were really solid. I like them across all decades, really- but the combination of Danny Kirwan & Peter Green was unbeatable, IMO..

They were on the road last year, and I managed to miss them everywhere they went, even tho they performed in several venues I work in!

Need your love so bad, and Albatross, were two sides of the same single when released, I bought the single for Albatross, and discovered the blues right there on the "B" side.
I managed to get to see Peter Green, when he played with the Splinter group, a few years ago.

I saw him about 10 years ago supporting John Mayall

He also drank a few times in my local pub late 70's as he was recording nearby.
A really quiet guy and I had no idea who he was until almost the end

I have been rocking out to The Green Manalishi by Judas Priest for a few decades now and it wasn't until this thread was started that I learned it was originally a Fleetwood Mac song.....amazing !!

HERE IS A GREAT STORY ABOUT PETER GREEN'S LEGENDARY LES PAUL

I first heard this story- a variation of it- long. ago on a radio station in Houston Texas. A DJ on this off beat FM station I liked down in Houston was talking about Gary Moore having purchased the guitar and doing an album of Peter Green Covers called Blues For Greeny. Turns out the guitar is now owned by Kirk Hammett of Metallica!

Here's a full Gary Moore gig, playing live, his entire cover album of Peter Green/Fleetowood Mac songs

and a 7 ish minute video saying much the same thing as the article does.

here's the wiki link to Gary Moore's BLUES FOR GREENY album. Time to buy this record I think.
