Since I have removed all the ugly bits from 1972 I'd like to put gaiters on the forks to complete the look I understand some of the new ones are real junk. Who in the USA has some good ones? Also I'm guessing I'd need the clamps?

your OIF forks aren't designed for gaiters. the stock pre-OIF ones won't fit. period.
having said that, i have a 1972 T120V, with gaiters that i bought from a motocross supplier 40 years ago.
32 mm on top, i think, and 40 mm at the bottom. hose clamps above and below.
they've worked fine since before ronald reagan was president.
look through off-road bike suppliers for possibilities.

I put these on this '76. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/CnFpCTN/002.jpg) I think they should fit your bike. They're off a Norton Commando. The Nortons ones actually last a long time. Cheers, Bill

+1 on the Norton gaiters. I have them on both my Triumphs with late front ends. The ones made by Andover Norton are well made and last.

As other posters, Andover Norton.
As someone else memorably wrote, the cheap gaiters end up as a pile of "O" rings.

I put a set of Andover Norton's predecessor gaitors on my Commando in the mid 80's, I took them off in 2012 when I refurbed the forks and fitted new gaitors from AN. The old ones had not split but were looking a bit tired with dull spots from road grit, still have them on my spares shelf if I ever need a set urgently as they still work as gaitors.

Andover Norton stuff is available in the US at The Bonneville Shop. I'll give them a call. Thanks to all.

look through off-road bike suppliers for possibilities. Perhaps it's badly expressed- all OIF forces were designed to have gaiters - it wasn't until the lates 70's that bare stanchions were available on home market bikes. Usa spec bikes just had a couple of rubber parts used to tidy up the stanchion to yoke, and a cover where the seals were.

this is what's on my 1972: ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/WxWs2stl.png) what was available in the home market? the 1976 T140 parts book is the first to show gaiters again in the images of the bike up front, but then doesn't show them in the parts page for the forks.

Thanks for all the photos and videos. They only confirm what I must do. Can't believe no one else has not cut back the air scoop on the brake. https://photos.app.goo.gl/oz3U3TyXsUoRspgBA
