So I pop into the Shop on Friday night and have a few beers . Two bikes in for work caught my eye . The BSA just cause its a BSA with a nice tank but the triumph is a bit special .

A Pre unit motor and front frame section with a factory pre unit rigid rear section .

We are talking frame ...... Front forks are some custom job just for show... Apparently he has regular forks with brake that he swaps out for riding.... That said these custom jobies are really a work of art... Look to be original Triumph trees cut down , reshaped , and streamlined.... A lot of work went into this bike. Even the rear light/license plate holder seem to be cast . Is it a one off? Dont know confused
So back to the Frame..... Front section is supposed to be an original Swing arm Preunit frame section married to a Pre unit rigid rear frame section.... I know the frame has mounting points still attached.... That in itself is amazing. The unused brackets always get cut off....

Wade, It looks like they have the front mudguard on the rear of the Triumph and I think it would look better on the front. Just my opinion,

I'm wondering....

I built a Triumph in 1969, just like the one you picture. I combined a 1959 alloy head TR6-engined front section with the rear section of a pre-unit rigid. I didn't like the sprung hub, so the rear frame had to be enlarged to accept the larger axle diameter of the solid rear wheel. It also had the "peanut tank". But I'm sure a thousand other people thought of the same combination.

Interesting. The Triumph is sparked by a Lucas "rotating magnet" magneto found on RE's, rather than the stock "rotating coil" K2F normally found on Triumphs.

Sometimes there are 10people hanging out sometimes its just me that shows up and sometimes he has plans or has to hang out with the wife and forgoes a drink with us at all.... Other times Friday night happens on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday.... wink Its like a box of chocolates... You never know.

Both bikes have things that I wouldnt do but considering some of the crap people do to bikes these days I thought it was mostly tasteful and .... I dont know if it is the first swing arm/rigid combo I ever saw but I like the stance of the bike rather then the low slung typical bobber look ... I guess that was the main thing that got me excited about it..... The BSA.... Id remove that Harley front end for sure but its a BSA so I love it no matter what.... laugh

Is it a Harley front end? I thought it might be wheels and forks off a big Benelli, Laverda or other 7o's Italian bike.
