Well, beside of the trip to the Castle Run, i had been at this years Race 61 hot rod meet. Its a 6 hours ride through real outback coutryroads. Had to go by truck, because i met a friend whos BSA M 20 i had worked with. So, his bike and my rigid A 65 Lightning ("Grey Star?")side by side on the bed with camping stuff and off i went.
See some pics

My camp in the shade; nice spot, because it was quite hot.

did i mention, that it takes place in an old airfield museum?
as you can see here.

BSA Board tracker with B 33 engine. did the 1/8 mile run quite well. But raced in the class up to 500cc.
By the way: I raced the "Grey Star" and was best in the class up to 900cc!! Did win a second hand piston on wooden block plus t-shirt..but was good fun.
As usual, the racer pilots got the entrance fee back (40 Euro).
Was a big events with thousands of spectators. If you wanna seee more about, you will find surely some films on you tube under Race 61.
cheers Dieter

Very cool looking event Dieter!

Don't know much about Fiats, but never expected a V8 could fit into one :-)

Thanks for sharing the pic's and descriptions.

Going to do some you tube surfing for more Race 61 shortly.

The Fiat was originally fitted with a 500cc twin cylinder...the V8 will just get a little more punch.

and, you guys have to look at another highly recommended event!!
Watch out for : The magic carpet festival Kopenhagen DK in August!!

The Topolino engine is a front engine.
Imagine what would happen to a Fiat-500 with
a V-8 below / behind the back seat!
