Two a 1969 stocker.

And a 1971 motocrosser race bike with dual high straight pipes. At 7000 rpms the boik sings.

Have a basic plan and then let life fill in the blanks.

Very Nice!!! out of interest what is the colour? it looks virtually identical to the the poor but original paint on my mates FB in the same style as yours and the colour is what we were pondering..... We have seen "flamboyant aircraft blue" however that colour on the blue lightnings looks nothing like it. the only way i could think that was possible was the candy blue over a black base instead of silver....

Gotta ask: Has anyone ever tried to race this beast on a motocross track?

The colour as seen on a computer monitor is meaningless .
Firstly unless it is a high end graphic arts or printers soft proofing screen ( read $ 1000's ) then it will not be an accurate depiction of the image and the image itself will not be an accurate depiction of the real colour of the bike which itself will vary according to the light it is being viewed in .

And all this is before you take into account the inacuracy ( variations really ) of the eye of the viewer.

Just realized I'd never posted a photo of my own FS, four years on ....

With a bunch of Guzzis, on the way to Williamsburg VA from my house. About a 400 mile day by the time we got back! With a 100 mile range, I could only stop to take a picture in front of a gas pump ....

True, but it doesn't answer what colour it is lol. His FB is a totally different colour to my Lightning Tank, Both were the original paint, (his having being used, but underside showed it had some shine, mine was NOS but no shine left) . Yet some books (R. Bacon) show as being the same colour for both... I know about the "no two days had the same colour mix" but the lightnings were consistantly lighter than the FB's

1970 A65F Fire Bird Blue vs. 1970 A65L Lightning

From BSA Motor Cycles LTD. (DM2678 Sheet 2) (Revised 31-12-69)

A65F Tank 82-9801/269 (Carrs C5666)

appears to be two different shades of blue
