I have a black and white poster for which I'm trying to identify the female model. The bike is a Norton Production Racer with a number 8 racing plate. The model is lying on the bike nude with her back to the camera. Her face is in profile; you essentially see her back and her 'bum.' I remember that there was a relatively famous britbike model that someone said has now passed away. I was wondering if she's the model in my poster.

It's a bit hard to make out from the profile, but she sure looks like Vivien Neves (professional name), who was the face and body of Norton in the 70's. She contracted MS in her 30s and died in her mid-50s. Her face is featured in the famous "Temptation" Norton ad of the early 70s. A striking woman.

It is my belief the original poster was simply being respectful of the BritBike forum, & the community at large.

It is surprising what offends some folks. On this matter, I could say a few things- but I'll keep it to myself- for similar reasons as stated above.

As usual, Youtube comes out with a winner. Cool video with a cool song- scrolling adverts of yesteryear. Every one EXCEPT the one in question here... Tho it looks like most of the Norton adverts featured the same woman- maybe it's her?

There I was in Cornwall sitting on the beach minding me own, when this lovely German lass comes along, drops the lot, and I gets me eye FULL of tobacco, well that's what it looked like lad. And she was a BIG girl in the top department too..

Puts on her bikini and buggers off swiming, BLIMEY and there's our American mates, worried for a photo of a Bum..

We credit our prudishness on the long ago extinct race of beings known as Puritans. A race of beings that once populated New England, famous for burning witches at the stake, and wearing designer black & white outfits before it was fashionable...at a time long before we fired our muskets at red coats.

I challenge anyone here in the US of A to find one Puritan. I've not seen one myself - they are as physically prolific as the Carolina parakeet....but - they some how they live on. :-)

I certainly don't consider it nudity, but as Ricochet indicated, I didn't want to offend anyone; you never know these days.

At any rate, thanks to those who identified Vivian Neves. That was the name I was looking for. Incidentally, does anyone know anything about the poster itself? It has no text, no advertising, nothing but the image. Esssentially a work of art.
