In one short post, you named 3 reasons why people from your part of the country have a reputation for excessive drinking!

Move south, young man .... you have the right mindset, we won't mind having you here. You'll just be a regular Yankee, not a Damn Yankee!

Good observation lad... practice on broken, 8" frost heaved, chunks missing, sand left over from winter LOUSY pavement and you can really whiz along when things get good! But, for now.. a little distraction..

Never have figured out how people stay warm enough to function on those sleds ... I mean, we motorcyclists struggle to find ways to keep warm when the temperature is in the teens or twenties, and there doesn't seem to be a good way.

What do you do when you're surrounded by snow and ice and the temperature is that or well below? Or below 0?

And why does that gear not work on a bike ... ?

You layer up till you look like the Michelin Man, waddle out to the sled, plop on and there you are. Ok till you have to get off or answer natures call. This gear would work on a bike but it's kind of restrictive and I've never seen snowmobile clothing with any kind of armor, but it's been a long time since I've done any serious sledding. Back when I did ride a lot my sleds were air cooled, and you stayed pretty warm from the blast of air comming off the head. My last was liquid cooled and it was the coldest I've ever been on one.
