Hi All, at last the BSA has arrived, even nicer as it is a wedding present , I'm stripping it to see what is required to get it running and I notice that the engine is leaning BACKWARDS in the frame, e.g. the cylinders are not vertical but have a definite backward slant, the frame appears to be straight and I have checked the top tube as instructed by the manual and all is in order. My question, In it's life although there are many original parts on the bike , there have been bodgers at work, IF the motor has come out in the past, is it possible to re-install it incorrectly? I don't think so Johnny, all those bolts fit pretty snug and don't want to go in till everything is aligned pretty well. Are all the mount bolts there?

thats what I was wondering, if you get the front and bottom bolt in it kina lines it self up if the botom and rear motor mounts were out it may lean back got any piccys?

Check out your front forks and make sure they're the right length. If not the bike will lean back and the engine will appear raked as per Leon.

Hi All, Thanks for the replys; all the bolts are in the frame and appear all present and correct..... My camera decided to die at Beezumph over in the UK last weekend so I cant send any pictures of the bike sitting on the bench, The forks will have to be re-furbed as pulling back the gaiters reveals a nasty mess along with the oil all over the hub brakeplate, so I'll get on with stripping and measuring those......Talking of Beezumph, Dave Aldana rode the Rob North that I wrenched on at the Bol 'Dor Classic earlier this year, by the way he was blasting round thrilling the crowd he has'nt lost anything, I chatted with him, his wife Susan, Gene Romero, Sherrie Romero was a brilliant person to meet and I also chatted with Craig and Carole Vetter , Dick Mann , Don Emde and Don Castro , to name a few, www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEwe9ldx02c.
