Ok I just got back from lookin at a 67 Hornet. It's missing the front foot pegs. These appear to be tapered are they the same as a 69 Victor? If not are they hard to find? Also the front forks are stuck are they the same as a 67 Victor? It's got rusty chrome a stuck motor and front forks and someone stuck a headlight and tailight on it, it's missing the engine right side cover along with both side covers on the bike but it did have a tool pouch behind the oil tank. The good side is it appears to be pretty much there besides what was mentioned plus has a numbers matchin title and I like the way the 67 Hornet looks. He's askin $1,500 but I told him that's too high fer it. Any one might have a guess as to it's worth? Thanks, Gene

It is worth whatever he will let it go for. That said, even for a Hornet, I wouldn't go for $1500 in that condition.

Headlights & tailights were frequently added by the dealers to convert them to street bikes. Your in southeast Ohio, may have come from Bowlby or Mathias that way.

The parts you are looking for are not common with a Victor. Correct Hornet footpegs are not that common, but common Lightning/Royal Star/Thunderbolt footpegs that fit the bike are easy to find.

Forks probably share the lowers & dampers with a Victor, but the trees & tubes are different. PB Blaster & patience does wonders for freeing up forks.

Thanks, I really like 67 Hornets but I too don't think this one is worth the askin price. I tried swappin him for somethin but he didn't appear too interested in any of my fine stuff. I think he'll drop the price tho as i told him it was too high and he asked for an offer. I'm thinkin on it.

You muentioned Bowlby, I live straight up that curvy road from his old shop. He was in Logan and I'm in Rushville.

If you do get it, I might have at least one footpeg...and it's not hard to make folding pegs from standard ones.

The '67 Hornet and '69 Victor folding footrests are the same (42-4926), but the footrest brackets are different.

Not very many of the '67 Victor front fork parts are common to the '67 Hornet.

With the tool box, the Hornet would be an east coast model.

I concur that the $1,500 price is on the high side. The originality and condition of the Hornet rear fender is important to the bikes worth. Good chain guards and east coast model high pipes are not real common.

It has the chainguard but it's a bit rusty and the rear fender was drilled for a tailight. It has the east coast high pipes on it too. Gary E could you please email me or PM me please. It has one original coil and another canister type laying there. Did these bikes have an ignition switch? I couldn't find one. Also the guy thinks the tach is a speedo. But the tach kinda looks like a speedo as it goes to 100.Thanks Guys, Gene
