Some time ago I saw reference to a spark plug with a transparent glass insulator but my searches have been fruitless. Do these things really exist? One of these would be great for jetting carbs without handling hot spark plugs.
Just curious.

It's called color tune. I never saw one in real life, but here are some links. [click] my searches have been fruitless Try a google search on color tune or colortune or colour tune. Do not be surprised but you'll also find instruction how to change the color of fashion photo's

Gunsons product,Colortune, excelent for idle mixture setting ,particularly helpfull getting twin carbs balanced,aid in spotting weak spark or intermittent spark, oil in chamber etc may need adaptor for some plug threads, has helped me to know which carb to look at.last for years.

Bob, is it for setting idle only, or can you ride with it, checking jetting under load?

Not designed for normal use,idle and pickup off idle only,static use only,light load brief use.Still a useful tool.Delicate,handle with care, you will still burn fingers.Blue flame correct,white flame weak,yellow rich,simples!
