the integrity of britbike.com is involved here, and a couple of you dont seem to share a concern for that. i just dont understand that attitude.

This is none of my business really, but seeing as nobody has heard from the guy in a month and a half, and several months before that, the guy is acting pretty irresponsibly.
It doesn't take much to at least drop in a post to let folks know where he's at.

The treasurer of our trade association board with whom I served just sort of dropped out of sight, not bothering to pass along uncashed checks from our members. It represented hundreds of $ of lost revenue to our district. Being that I consider him a friend as well, I called, e-mailed and eventually wrote an official letter asking that the funds be turned over. Never got a response. Do I believe the guy ripped us off on purpose? No, just acted irresponsibly. But to folks that don't know him, and those whose checks never got cashed, he's a total bum and someone my "new" board members speak of with disdain, not to mention the damage he did to the board's reputation.

It's all about respect and reputation, and right now this guy is not building a good one amongst his fellow British bikers.

Guys I just sent this to him and hopefully he will respond.. Next time any of these types of deals arrise there will be a site Pay pal accont with payment at delivery..At least it will on this board. I for one did not pay as it seemed like a big undertaking for one guy but it was not because I was not trusting of any of the board members..we are a good group with common values..I tend to think this will work out..'

Cheers

My message to Rick,

It would only be right for you to check in..We all have other priorities but you started this so a response on site would be the correct thing to do..It is really a cool shirt and I for one would like to see this come out OK but it has been over a month since you have posted..

Cheers man and I hope things are OK

I have countless emails and phone calls to Rick.. He has said to me that he will post this weekend as his family matters are taking all his time. I have to feel he will do what is right, but that is my nature. I hope we as a group can deal with this if he does not post or let us know what is going on. I have relayed to him (and will post all emails I have sent and the responses I have received)that we all still would like to receive the shirts, I even offered to pay for the extra postage and any other cost he may have, which I am sure most of you would do as well. if this matter can not be resolved we have alternatives and as a group it will work..

I hope I am right about Rick..I would hate to think a board member would do anything on purpose to hurt this site.

Cheers everyone

ok mike. i wont contact paypal on my own. i wil allow the group to act as one on this, at least you have my support on how you want to handle it.

no what happened to the guy who talked about taking it over?

i dont think the original seller was planning ripping us off. the shirts were to cheap for that being a plan. he certainly is planning on avoiding going thru with the deal though.

I agree with you Hacksaw, He has avoided contact but some people are like that I guess. If you feel the need to cancel the Pay Pal I suggest you do it as I still have some doubts about Rick. He has told me he has this coming week off and will do what is necessary to make things right but he also told me he would post this weekend. Look back in earlier post and his work number is listed. Maybe a call will help He deos check his email but ... I just hope he comes through, I feel somewhat responsible for letting this go..

Cheers
Guys

Let me know when paypal will be contacted.
He's obviously avoiding the board here and really doesn't plan on following through.

Thanks BSABARMY,

you hit the nail on the head ...so to speak, it wasn't about trying to rip someone off... Why would I spend over $300 to rip off a few people for $90...
anyway... I started a new post I still have a bunch of packages with no address to send to I'll be posting a list on the other thread.

Cheers,
Rick

Rick or whoever:

Returned from an extended assignment after New Years, and am just settling back in to living ashore again.

Many changes since I was last on the board - the 441 Victor with the Eagle sidecar was sold prior to our first move, we've been all over the place Chicago, Dijon France, and Northern India.

At some point Rick shipped me two black BSA Tee shirts - they had a rather interesting trip.

From Victoria to Seattle (our old address) forwarded incorrectly to relatives who (helpfully) sent them on to Dijon - where they missed us, but the moorage repacked and sent them on to Mumbai, India - where they missed Katherine by two days.

The folks in India sent them to Chicago, where they missed me, the landlord there sent them back to our original Seattle address, where they happened to get handed to a friend of mine who threw them in his sidecar, and I finally got given them in a coffee house in the building that was Polk's Cycles here in Seattle - who used to sell BSA....

Amazingly, the shirts were in great shape, and I'm pleased as punch to have them - this message is to say THANKS! and also to check and make sure that I did pay up front for them & don't owe any more for shipping & etc?

BTW - several links to our latest project:

It seems that the shirts have done more miles than the bikes! I agree that my shirts were terrific. I've already been wearing mine. Well done Rick. Regards to the family. Mike
