Sorry guys;

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth or anything. When things get busy - they really get busy.

Everything is packaged and ready to go out.

I went down to the local post office to mail out the first few and nearly had a heart attack. I'll have to post again with an updated price for shipping. To give a good estimate - it will be between $6-$8 bucks for shipping - where before I thought I could get it done on the "regular" postage. I guess the problem was I couldn't make a tee-shirt fir the size restriction - so it has to go out as "small parcel".

Give me a few more days to nail down a cost for shipping that is fair for everyone. If anyone wants to back out (for any reason) I'll understand. This has taken way too long from my point of view -

...but on the flip side it was a great summer for riding here on the island (when I got out)

look for a posing here Friday or Saturday - with a full price breakdown - I don't want to make any money off this - but I don't want to go broke either. Canada Post has the US devided into zones with different prices for parcels to each zone - so I think I'll be posting a messy spreadsheet. I think I'll have to check out other options - any sugestions? because the good 'ol postal system is not as good as I believed it to be.

cheers gents,
rick

I thought that the price of the shirt was way too low in the first place and maybe too optomistic. You can't get a regular commercial T-shirt for much under $20.00 anyway. Dealer shirts can easily be twice that price so a few extra bucks for shipping is not a problem.

I usually just stick tshirts in a large envelope...you know, the padded ones. MUCH cheaper than sticking it in a box.

If someone changes their mind or you have extras, I'd like one with the bike picture on a white t shirt, size large. Somehow, I missed this whole string until it was too late to order.

as the saying goes, better to be pizzed off than pizzed on.

over 2 weekends ago, maybe 3 by now, he returned my email and told me he was getting killed on shipping, but he would have my 2 long sleeve shirts out that weekend. hopefully he did. i offered to pay for more shipping but he never got back to me on that. oh well.

You've got a lot of people fired up about these shirts, but where are they? Communication is key in sales ( or for successful sales ).

Communicate to the group of perspective buyers what is happening. I'm sure I can speak for the lot of us and say that we would like some solid info on the shirts. :bigt:

As I understand it, Rick is not selling these shirts for profit but as a favour to us. He is obviously having some problems and I think that we should give him the benefit of the doubt and some time. It's a mammoth task and has probably overstretched him on time etc.

bsaBarmy-

really? its been 5 FRKKNG MONTHS!!
the guy told me he was gonna ship my shirts at a certain time and didnt do it. i got a right to be annoyed. now if you want to defend the guy, fine, YOU send me back my money.

i even offered to send him some extra shipping money. thats because he told me he got killed on shipping. but, he also said he sent a couple out (who got them? ) and mine would be out that weekend. regardless of his original intent, we that signed into this are currently feeling victimized. bsabarmy, you got no bizz, imho, in ragging on any of us who want what we paid for. you are just plain wrong!

I've paid too. I don't mind sending a little more to cover additional shipping. $6.50 was really cheap for a shirt.
I'd just like to see Rick post some sort of status. I'm still giving him the benifit of the doubt, that this was more of a task than he thought.

That's what we're asking for. How long does it take to log on and make a post? Having trouble, then say so. :bigt: If members have been told that their shirts were being shipped and they haven't arrived in due time, we've got a problem. Whether it is for profit, for fun or what have you, when people are expecting a product that was announced, orders were placed, a product was anticipated, e-mails were sent promising an invoice and worse...some members have apparently paid and NOT received. Yeah,I'd venture to say there is a problem. Ground control to Major Tom, can you hear me Major Tom ? :bigt:

Communication... :bigt:

A couple months ago.

Glad this didn't originate on my Board, I smelled this coming, and was tempted to throw out some cautionary advice. Guess maybe I should have.

Hope this can be worked out, but really doesn't sound too likely. Still not my place for advice, but if I was a customer here, I'd follow Hacksaw's lead and contact my credit card company and/or Paypal.

cool Well I paid with a " Canadian Postal Money Order", it is my understanding that this constitutes "mail fraud" if the product is not delivered.

I will not send any more money (throwing good after bad) but if his costs have overrun and shipping would be more than he quoted then I would accept my shirts with a COD payment for the difference. I would like to give him the benefit of doubt as well but as others have said a little communication is in order.

At least we are not talking about a great deal of money here but after all it is the principle of the thing. wink

I just got this email from him:

You are correct this is bull****… I totally agree. I’ve been away from home several times for work… and when I get home I’ve done nothing but spend time with my wife and kids – I don’t even think I’ve turned on my PC at home for months… if you want to take over that would be great – I’ll just ship them all to you. Once payments start rolling in you can reimburse me the cost of the shirts – What a great deal eh?

Anyway – I don’t really have time for this – I’m working 13-15 hr days – and Sunday seams like my only day off… I’ll try and package up a few this coming week-end.

I'm not defending anyone but I could see his problems growing as the thing took off. I used to run my own business and was always caned when I attempted to do "freebies". You have everything to lose and nothing to gain. As Rick says, family comes first. I know. I've been there. I don't think that he's going to run away for the sake of a few bucks. I may be wrong but I'm not so hard up that a few dollars through the post is going to get me stressed. Take a chill pill and think of his wife and kids. If I'm wrong you can all shout at me later. I'm being patient! But that's me!!!
