BritBike review:<br> Just finished reading Author Ed Youngblood's book about famous racing star #2 Dick Mann, Mann of his time. Being a fan of Dick Mann I did not have a clue really what Dick Mann has achieved both on and of the race course. Thank you Ed Youngblood for writing a book as good as this one. Despite being Swedish I enjoyed reading every page of this book in English and now I know a lot more about The Mann of his time. Get your sample here!

Next book to read is new to the market. See Classic Motorcycling below by Rex Bunn.

Kenny Dreer officially resigned as a director on the board of Norton Motorsports
    To all BritBike Newsletter readers,

Effective today, I have tendered my resignation to the Norton Motorsports Board. My reasons for resigning are two fold; first I have done all that I could to assist the board to find resolution in an effort to move the company to a next group. Currently this is a continuing process. Secondarily, I believe I have afforded Norton not only my time but my best efforts over the course of the company's existence, and now it is time that I move on. My new company will be "Kenny Dreer Motorcycles". The focus will be Vintage and current Euro based motorcycles, restorations, custom builds, performance upgrading, custom and performance parts. I look forward to seeing a lot of old faces, and making new friends as well. My apologies for the silence.

I want to take this opportunity to once again, thank all of those many people who believed in Kenny Dreer and Norton. The 961 Norton Commando was and still is everything I dreamed a new Norton should be. Hopefully the stars will have better alignment next time around.

    Best regards,

    Kenny Dreer

Ed's note: We'll see more coming from Kenny soon and he'll be back advertising his business on BritBike.com

A different and fascinating new look at classic motorcycling with an international flavour sure to appeal to all owners (and intending owners) of classic bikes worldwide. This is a book about all the things classic enthusiasts need to know, but rarely seem to be adequately covered elsewhere. Things such as how and where to buy a classic, which classic is right for you, the prices of classics and their likely appreciation in future years, how many classics survive and where they can be found, licensing, registration and testing procedures in Australia, NZ, USA and the UK, riding, maintenance, workshop equipment, spares and their availability, projects to improve most classics, clothing and safety and of course the simple joy of riding and enjoying classics! Fully illustrated and clearly written this is an excellent and useful guide for the newcomer to classics as well as the more experienced.

The Norton CD is now into its FOURTH EDITION, and covers not just the Commando, but all the so- called "heavy-weight" twins (as opposed to the under- 400 cc twins) and the "classic" singles - the ES2, the International, and of course the Manx. There is a rebuild manual which also covers the LIGHTWEIGHT TWINS, and the Commando section has been added to with another Parts List, Stage 2 Tuning Notes for the 850, and other minor service-related matters. There is of course a complete set of factory- issued Service Sheets for the Commando (over 170 pages worth!). AND we have added a new Maintenance Manual for the 16H, Big 4, 18, & ES2 singles, and more "memorabilia". There is also a NEW Engine Data Base which covers from the 1946 Model 18 to the 1963 Atlas.
