Hello There is a quite long story behind this bike. About the pipes: its all stainless, starts with standard diameter, after the star-clamps it goes up to 40mm, welded together in segments, each side about 13 bits to make it fitting exactly without stresspoints. There is lots of little kinks for the brake lever and the footrests, that makes it quite tricky. Before the rear wheel is a connection between the pipes, to run it smoother at high revs. Its got also an extra bracket in front of the head, to hold it in place. The muffler is from sixties/seventies Sportster and early Super Glides HD. Thanks for your interest. Greets Dieter
Hello scott The girder is from a BSA M20, modified to take the 7inch tls hub. Also modified with a rubber mounted handlebar. All works in tapered bearings from Volkswagen... I guess not so many girder bikes gone to the states, right? Think they were most common in the army range. Everyone wanted telescopic forks after the war and throw out the girderstuff. And now everybody wants the girders back. greets Dieter
Hy Lannis The paintwork must be more than 10 years old now. The tank is a very rare one from 1947 model only, with cronometric spedo inside. And the two little dents above the badge is a gift from buddy Joerg Niemeier, when his A65 scrambler fell over and hit my bike... so i am always good for a "special" price when i need spareparts of his shop.
