^^ Good reasoning, I'd say, Daron.

Some TR5T pictures from Tridentman, for reference and discussion:

Trident man,
You should just sell me the scrappy yellow one (wink, wink) and keep that perfect red one. It's exactly what I'm looking for and I have family in Jersey I could visit.
Cash in hand...

Daron

Hi Daron,
While all of my bikes are for sale the prices are $1 above what they are worth to me.
In terms of these TR5Ts they are among my favorite bikes and worth a lot to me.
Much more in fact than the "market price".
So my advice is to keep on looking--they do come up from time to time--and mostly in the north east as I have previously posted.
So you might get to see your family in Joooisey yet!
Best of luck in your search and if I can help by having an initial look at any that are local to me then please feel free to let me know.

I think this might have been one of the links which were in PDF form but that Hosting site no longer works.
Here are the scanned pages uploaded, will have to look in my stored documents to see what the other was and what else I have.
Click for big ones.

Thanks, Les, I had not seen that article. I'll scan the articles that came with my bike.

Well I found a good one on Craigslist from Idaho. It showed up yesterday. It probably looks better in the photo but I am very pleased. Fired up first kick. Just needs a few issues resolved but it does have all the hard to find details you guys pointed out as hard to replace. And it was only $3200 but had to add shipping to that.

You're close ... just edit your post, click on "attachment manager" under your post, and then copy and paste that very filename into the box you'll see (or drag the picture into the box), and it'll show up ....

Lannis

I stopped believing for a little while this morning. Journey is really going to be upset.

Lannis, There is no text saying "attachment manager" when I try to edit.

Daron----instead of just replying click on :Use Full Editor" button and then the "Attachment Manager" is towards the bottom.

Yes, r.bartlett, No hiding on the inter web eh?

And I was able to add the photo here after I actually became a paying member. Embarrassed that I didn't catch that detail earlier. Great site and glad to support it.

Great looking TR5T and another original bike.

Got your email and just remembered, even if the stock seat is being removed, they had a tendency to crack the fibreglass base / pan which I think might have been due to a lack of support, some form of extra rubber buffer between the frame tube and base might stop that.
Original seats are hard to find let alone not cracked.

Click pic for full size.

$3200 would be a bargain even with shipping on top, it seems the good bikes come from up that way, my low mile 74 spent near all its life (1974 / 2012) on a farm in Montana.

Daron---a good price and it looks very original to me based on what you can make out from the photo.
Interesting what Les says--my 73 was on a farm in New Hampshire until about a year before I bought it (so about 1973-2011).
Enjoy the bike!
