Jon,
Actually I sold my 1971 240Z about 2 years ago(and regret it). The one in the pic is my 15 yr. old sons project and it is a 1975 280Z with factory mags (first year for fuel injection) We are looking for a parts car now.

I,ve got another pair of wheels already for the triumph (the ones on it are just to roll it while building it) They are Borani alum. wheels with avon road runners on them.
I hate to let the cat out of the bag on the paint as I do not want to see loads that color but it is--------> ARE YOU READY??? :p ------> John Deere Yellow!!!! ha ha ha, good old tractor paint!
I wanted MOPAR Cuda "Electric Banana" but could not find it.

Actually because of knee and eye probs now days, this bike and all extra parts will most likely go on eBay around X-mas. I could keep it, but I'm a firm believer in not letting stuff rot. It needs to be used and enjoyed so I'll pass it on.( for the right price of course) I've had a lifetime of choppers, no point keeping it for show.

Thanks for the compliment, smile

PEACE

Maurice, do you know what sort of bike that springer is from? It looks "just right" on your chopper!

Thank ya, thank ya very much. I appreciate all the feedback and terrific looking bikes providing ideas for mine. Truly a fun thread to follow.

I have now acquired a '69 TR6R frame and engine with matching numbers and am starting to accumulate the other parts needed to get her running. I am looking for wheels, stock front end and stock gas tank, in decent shape, if anyone has extras they are looking to part with. If you have something you think I might be interested in, you can contact me off list at joe@weathermann.net

I am also looking for recommendations for an oil tank. I kind of prefer the horseshoe shaped tanks with the curved front, as compared to the hexagonal or tubular shaped tanks. There are a lot of Harley ones around but they mostly seem to have the internal battery case, which seems to make these a lot wider than I am looking for. Any advice?

Thanks again.

Weathermann

WOW! This thread IS huge!! LOTS to read... I noticed that there are some Ohio people on here... cool! I'm from Ohio, moved to Vegas in 1997. Lived in Springfield went to Wright State University (Dayton) for a year before tranferring out here. Used to love to go to Yellow Springs. Cool area! Cool bikes everyone... Here's my work in progress. Still lots of changes to be had. Hope to get it on the road soon, but have had a couple set backs...

Ok, I know now that there are a lot of scooter tramps from Ohio on this site. I also know that they really like Brits (duh, they wouldn't be here if they didn't) and I also know there are a lot of them Ohio scooter tramps that are familiar with Grand Lake St. Marys or St. Marys Lake as we refer to it.

Now, how would you like a nice, Sunday afternoon putt around Lake St. Marys, ending up at Duck Foot Landing (right on the lake) to here some classic rock music played loud and proud? The opportunity is here. My band, Bad Habit, is playing Duck Foots on Sunday, August 14th from 4-8 PM. That's one week from this coming Sunday, 10 days from now (Aug 4). Anyone of you guys that show up and mention BritBike.com, I will personally buy you your first beer or soda.

It's supposed to nice if you wanna putt in, come early and you can park your boat in the channel, right next to the bar. If you prefer coming in a cage, throw your pole and tackle in the back and get a line wet.

This bar has great food and Behms landing(the one with the absolutely killer turtle soup) is about a 100 yard walk away.

Ok, how can you beat a Sunday away from the house, TV, computer, oil change etc, good music, good food, good fishin, good fun and the opportunity to meet these guys we been typing to AND your first drink is on me? Can't, can ya?
Rick

PS: this bar is uber biker friendly.

Great offer Rick,
Unfortunately for me (besides bike not done) is the fact I'm committed to other things that weekend.
But maybe others will take you up on your offer and it could become a regular thing??? smile

And guess what else, not only do I love Brit iron (or aluminium ,lol) BUT----> I'm even married to a real british bird!!!! What's really funny is my wife brought her Honda over here from Sussex and is a true blue Honda freak!!!! GO FIGURE????
Too bad she didn't import a couple of Brough Superiors!!!

Rick

I know the lake well, used to go by it 2x per day on my way from Wapak to Greenville. Even been to New Bremen a few times. I had a friend that was running a wood shop there (Blue Ribbon Woodworks)but that was 17 years ago, don't know where he is now, probably still in the way (so to speak). If I get my bike together I may run up and take you up on the brewski.

I'll be there. I'm just not sure if I'll have my chop or not. I sent my front wheel for a relace and it's lost or something mad More on that later.

I'm the one with the goatee and dew rag. Walk right up and call me various derogatory names and let me know you want your drink....hehehehe.

We could make this a regular run, but you know what happens to small runs.........eventually they get huge......that would be awesome.

Yes, Behm's and Duckfoot's are located on the south side of the lake, on Behm's Rd. From state route 66 head west on state route 219, 3-4 miles, I'm not sure, till you see the Behm's Landing sign on the right. Turn right and follow that road to either Duckfoot's to the left or Behm's a bit further on to the right. Good times should follow.

Here's a Google map.

By the way, you might wanna come a little early, the place fills up pretty quick. We'll be getting there about 2 PM to set up, I'll see what I can do about saving a table.

Well, for the first annual "Run to Duck Foot", we had a grand total of.......drum roll please........me

Not one scooter showed up, nobody showed up in a cage, nobody came up to me and said, "hey man, I'm from BritBike". I could understand if they didn't want to ride, it looked like rain and we actually had a 10 minute rain shower (rain never stopped me from riding). I honestly thought at least one person from this site would show up at least in a cage.

Well, here's what you missed. We had our band trailer out back and the drummers camper. The AC was keepin it cold and I made about 300 jello shots. Our drummer gave away 6 pairs of "Bad Habit" panties and one chick actually put em on back where we were playin....a little off to the side, she was a little shy..... smile . I had free band shirts for everybody that showed up and we had two coolers of beer in the trailer, it was all on me. I even had two runners to get the refills. I made 10 pounds of my home made BBQ beef and it was kept hot in the camper all afternoon.

With an hour left to go, it was lookin pretty grim that no one was gonna show, so we gave the jello shots to anybody that wanted em, the bar let us sell the BBQ in sandwiches at the bar for $.25 a piece (proceeds went to a local family that lost their house in a fire recently) and I've got about 3 cases of Bud/Bud Light left.

Next year, I don't think I'll prep as much.....lol

Darn Rick, sorry to hear it was a total no show.
I actually would have shown up ...EXCEPT----> My wife was working and I had my 15 year old son and my step daughter from england here to sit on.A horse to feed , a big ugly new puppy to keep from chewing up the entire house. Plus it is about 200+ miles away for me.
Well, there ya now have all of my lame excuses.
But it sounds like if anyone showed they would have been treated to some great hospitality for sure. So reality is---> IT WAS OUR LOSS, frown
Maybe some time in the future we can find time to get together for at least a fishing trip at St. Mary's. Till then, ride safe and never stop being the truely nice guy you seem to be!
PEACE
OH---> let me find a pic of me and I'll be brave enough (like you) to post my pic too soon.

Well, the British Motor Day did not have much more luck. It rained all morning and only 4 showed up (about 300 cars though).

Some unedited photos are located at British Motor Show

I'm sure that the main reason was probably the weather, it did look pretty gloomy all day up here. Was sure looking forward to meeting some of the people behind the posts though, maybe next year, a little more notice and maybe set it up for a weekend, have a buddy that I build bikes with, he has 5 acres, 3.5 of which are wide open and flat for tents.

Fishing excursion sounds like a good idea.
