...regarding names there in USA, is strange for me the area in Los Angeles called "Los Feliz" (I know that Feliz was a family there but) instead of EL Feliz, the plural in Spanish is LOS Felices.

My first wife had a sweatshirt from that park

When given the choice between two evils I picked the one I haven't tried before

Unintended consequence! I wasn't really trying to "revive" the Unusual Name thread, interesting though it may be. I was just responding to Janet's last post from 2+ years ago to ask why her posts suddenly quit, if anyone over there knows ....

Meanwhile, my address of "Spout Spring" is odd enough for me .... !

I grew up in the town of Weston Super Mare England, which I always found funny. We have beautiful Staynor Ontario, and Missouri is blessed with Uranus. I have a shirt from there that advertises Uranus mortuary services simply stating “we bury em deep in Uranus”. Needless to say, I don’t wear that shirt much.

We don’t have too many interesting city names around here in the hills of El Dorado. Best one is Cool. Thats the name. Moving next week to Shingle Springs.

Newfoundland has a few good ones. They musta been drinking a lot of skreech before they thought up some of these names.
Here's some favorites.
Come by Chance, Come by Near, Hearts Delight, Hearts Desire, Hearts Content, Leading Tickle, Black Tickle, Tickle Harbour, Conception Bay, and of course Virgin Cove. Though some say there aren't any in Newf.
I wonder where Swastika in Ontario got it's name too. I can guess about Balls Falls origin, it's about 20 miles from my house.
Cheers
Don

We have a Come By Chance in NSW as well. Never was a place more aptly named.

That dude was "Goebbels" so quite a bit different, sort of like a town being named "Hamler" .... wink

And you wouldn't get him mixed up with this guy either even though the name is sort of the same ... whistle
