Need to come off some day!! Wiring up a '69 Triumph, and got to the tail light part. Didn't have a nice disconnect, and also ran a 3rd dedicated ground wire, so needed a connector with 3 contacts. Wasted a bunch of time looking around the shop for an answer, went over to the electrical supply store. They have tons of stuff for builders, but I just can't see a Molex Mate-N-Lock on my Triumph. Thought about the last time I had a reason to take a fender off a running motorcycle,.......... NEVER have. Decided to simply solder and heat shrink the connections !! SO,......... This will be the first time I do need to remove a fender. That is if this project ever does get to the running part. Even as noted, I did leave a "service loop" of extra wire, in case I need to cut it! You just have to move on sometimes !!

Hi KC,

Ime, originally with two wires, Lucas just used a single snap connector on each wire. Adding the ground wire, just add a third single snap connector? Or, after Lucas added the ground wire as standard, they supplied these.

Hth.

Regards,

Oh, didn't know they ever did supply a 3rd wire, must be on the OIF bikes?
Of course those 3 bullet connectors would work. I haven't got one of those on this bike, and I do have some in a box full of spares. I could have used individual connections also, just decided to test the theory!
Stuart,....... Did send you a PM on the switch query.

Mmmm ... I've seen 'em '71-on but, when I posted that, forum contributors in the US said theirs were still 2-wire, so it seems Lucas started fitting a ground wire from part-way through '71?
