Hi guys!
Digging in a collection of stuff I've purchased i found an incomplete A65 engine.
Its stamped A65 LC 1119 3

I'm under the impression this is a Lightning Clubman case.

Any way I can identify this to be sure?

Thanks!

It is more likely a set of early 69 Lightning cases. Pics would help.

Stud type alternator mount or cast alternator mount?

Trans oil fill in RH main case?

Those are 2 big things to identify vintage.

Also raised lug on case where the vin is stamped. Even early 69s had that.

The pic shows the cast alternator mount, so not Lightning Clubman too late, I make those numbers, 66 or 67 Lightning , there is no raised boss like the later numbers, 67 would have a finned rocker cover and that would fit the later type alternator mount, the C after A65 L may mean a close ratio gearset is installed.
Has the primary case got the strobe access cover?

Its hard to tell from the pic but the barrels look like they have heavy flanges and 3/8ths stud.
What way does the clutch cable enter, horizontal or vertical? Got any other pics?

Yep, more pictures would help. Another possibility is the original case had a large hole blown out of it and was replaced with an unstamped dealer bottom end who then stamped the original vin on it.
