The Frame is stamped -NC13XXXA65L, Engine - NC13XXXA65L. The #'s are within a few hundred of each other. Previous owner said it was a 67' engine, 70' frame. From my BSA buyers guide, NC is for month/year, October/68-69'. Is this correct? Any help appreciated.

it would not make sense if the number are that close and the year and frame are 3 years apart ..something aint right .....numbers restamped ?.......i know that restamped and phony numbers ..welded up bosses ...are all to common on the older harley stuff ...a real pain in the a#$s......just look on eBay at harley stuff!

Maybe not so odd, I bought a 69 B44 fitted with a C15 engine, to return it to near original 20 years later I bought a set of B44 crankcases. When I got them they were the same month/year and exactly 100 different on the number.

I should clarify & state that the owner I bought the bike from was told from the previous owner that it was a 67' engine in a 70' frame, he thinks , LOL!!! The 1st owner had it many years.
The stamping looks real good. Were the letters in front of the #'s for a particular few years?
