Time now for some updates. Fall is coming with big steps; end of the month we will turn back the clocks for one hour. And its time to chop some firewood for the coming cold days.
A week ago we also got the first of the storms that fell quite some trees up here in the north of Germany. The trees were still full of leaves and the ground was soaked, so we got a major railroad breakdown.
And just 200 meters from our house a couple of 30 meter trees destroyed our phone wires plus the the railway track.
Anyway, we are online again, so i can post some pics of the Veterama swapmeet:
to please Lannis, Kev. and some more Guzzi lovers. I guess its not a stock modell, but we dont get many chances to see pre-war italian bikes like this one.
Rudge old style tracker
..what should i say...? best of both worlds??? on the right hand side you can spot the stall of Jose van Genechten, our Belgian BSA Specialists.
and we had also some old cars at the meet.
there was some quite odd vans, like this Grumman from the fifties. nice look.
met a guy from the far west of Germany who had two beezas for sale. a nice looking Sloper for an attractive price, as i think. He was asking for about 7900 €.
I have seen another Sloper, rolling chassis, basket case, missing bits, non runner that went for 6 grand! Well, i am sure he didnt know about this one here. But this is always the same problem, the swapmeet area is so big that is is impossible to see all the stalls in one day. And you can not be sure to find again the interesting spots when you get lost in the fields. So, you just take the chance when you get the fever and buy sometimes stuff for incredible prices.
B44? or a B50 and i guess he was asking 5800 € for the bike
another rare bird: pre war AJS with side car, but dont ask me about the price...
looks like overhead cam, driven by gears?
Any way. This years Veterama i did not have enough time to spend, because i had to show-up at our 40th anniversary school meet. We were 30 kids in our class, and 22 of them were expected to come.
And we had a special date to explore our school and get entrance to the archive !! So we did, and it was big fun! But thats another story.
Have fun with the (few) pics, that i was able to take: Sorry, i was in a hurry so i didnt took more.
But, let me post one more funny one, that was taken at a dirt track race this summer:
Bumper car from the sixties mounted on the chassis of a Quad...
nice idea, right?
well, folks, thats it for the moment.
