I want to dismantle I flywheel I have that has a bit of rust on it. Is it a simple matter of removing the 2 flywheel bolts? (sludge trap and bolt already removed). And is reassembling as straightforward as refitting the bolts? I dont want to tear it down to find that things are an interference fit or other problems. Any issue with rebalancing after teardown?

Thanks,
Dave

The flywheel typically comes off the crank without much difficulty once the stake bolts are removed, but to get it back on, you'll probably have to put the flywheel in the oven and the crank in the freezer.

IMHO,..........I'd avoid it. Too much chance of not going well later.

Thanks for the replies. I will leave it assembled and clean it from there.

Dave
