T100s didn't have square finned generator barrels.

But good luck.

I think the GP was officially a T100 of some designation. They didn't make it onto the street....just the track.

There were TR5 square barrels. First year....very desirable. That was a dual purpose bike.

Cheers,
Bill

There was a few bits on eBay a while ago, a set of barrels, the price they went for was eye-watering. There is someone in Australia making parts for them i think, but not a cheap project.

John,I think you would get a better response to what you are looking for if you let everyone know that you just unearthed a complete GP rolling chassis.Good bunch of knowledgeable people around here!

Good luck with it....Dave

No John, i was looking at barrels on eBay and there was a pair of freshly cast, but only partially machined gp barrels on there. The seller said something about making certain parts for gp's.

No secrets here smile as Dave said I seem to have been very lucky and found a hens tooth being a real Triumph GP rolling chassis. Seems to be impossible to find much detail info on them and have to start piecing together an engine for it bit by bit. A few good contacts at the moment that can help but pocket cant stretch so far yet so any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks
John.

Hey John,

Do you still have that rolling chassis? I've found a square barrel engine in the UK and it's got the right gearbox too but no carbs and it's in the wrong frame. The engine cases are from a 1947 T100.

Genuine race bikes had an "R" designation on frame and engine. It was stamped on 200 engine cases - all went racing and were known as "grenades" as they were so unreliable. There are very few left and most of the other race bike bits were fitted to standard T100 cases of the same era.

Let's see if we can get a complete bike put together.

Cheers

Gareth

Gday John and Gareth
Just seen your posts and if you want some info on the GP I have a GP parts book and I have the factory records so I can verify if the engine and frame numbers you have are actually genuine.
I also know a little bit about the GPs. For example the head is specific to the GP and different to the TR5 or war time generator.
Private message me if you want my help.
Peter
