OK, I admit it, I'm addicted to brake fluid.

But I can stop any time I want.

I will be there also with the A10 and Trident. Setup at the usual spot on the gravel road by the entrance booth.

Took the seat cover off the A10, worked on the foam with a razor knife, installed a gel pad, now I need to get all those little clips back on and get the cover on straight. I've been riding on the spare tube (a 3.00 x 19, should be 3.50 x 19) for two years, need to swap that out. Need to procure and install a new needle and needle jet, the gas mileage is getting atrocious. And I have a new kill switch for the handlebar but need to take the tank off and wire it in. And adjust the valves, when I get the tank off. AND install new latches on the Craven panniers. And only three weeks left to go, I'd better get a wiggle on .... !

Really sorry to hear that. Hope that things will go well, and that we hear that your daughter is better and you'll be out rallying next summer!!

Not "Work" again? When are people going to realize how badly work gets in the way of rallies, and just knock off .... laughing

Got the ground wires and kill switch fixed on the A10, cleaned the points, checked the mag brushes (about 50%), adjusted the brakes, checked the primary chain and gearbox oil, checked the spare parts (light bulbs, mag brushes, spark plug). Still need to change the rear tube, install the new pilot jet, and drill and bolt the new latches onto the Craven panniers. Checked to see that the little tent has all the bits and poles and stakes, aired out the bedroll. Always something!

Looking forward to it!

do any of you good people follow OVBSAOC website or facebook ?

http://ohiovalleybsaownersclub.com/Site/index.php
https://www.facebook.com/ohiovalleybsaownersclub/

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR AUGUST RALLY ATTENDEES - County Road 56 between State Route 7 and Cables Campground, site of the rally, is CLOSED for bridge repair.
Access to the rally will be from the next exit North on Rt 7 - CR46. It's the Toronto exit with a McDonalds.
Take CR46 West, approximately four miles. Go up the hill until you come to the stop sign. There's a big church on the corner.
Turn left there onto SR213.
Go approximately one mile, down the hill, then turn left onto CR56 to the rally.

Thanks Bryan, good to know!

Since I'm coming up from the south, I'll probably get on 213 at Steubenville off of OH7 and come in the back way from that direction.

Some of those little bridges on CR 56 have needed fixing for a long time, I'm glad they're getting to it ....

What no scenic trip up CR56????? That is half the enjoyment for me! I am going to miss the cars up on blocks that haven't moved in 20 years.

But I guess I will survive without CR56.......

See everyone on Friday

Thanks! I'll decide what road to take when I get there.

Bike is fettled, packed, just needs to be kicked and ridden. If all the various thrashing bits keep thrashing like they're supposed to, and air stays in the tires like it's supposed to, I'll be there Friday noon or so .....

On the subject of tyres/tires, on another site you listed your tool/wrench etc packing, I might suggest also packing a new spare tube, tyre irons, a repair kit and a few small compressed air bottles. That is what we did for our 2010 Big Advenrure. If you got it you mostly do not need it bigt

Enjoy the ride, enjoy the company, say Hi to the folks at Cables Campground
Pics will be appreciated, if possible

Well, had a nice ride today, family things didn't allow me to get away until almost 2:00 PM, so I made it as far as Elkins WV and now I'm in a nice Super 8 hotel, just had dinner with a couple of BMW guys on their way back from Newfoundland to Nashville TN, now getting ready for bed.

The A10 is running well, and since rejetting it has gone from 33 MPG to over 50 MPG, which is great. No more sooty plugs.

I must have used the wrong kind of grease (Honda "60" Moly gray stuff) in the dynamo chain case, because in the 90 degree weather going up the mountains, grease is running all out of the dynamo/case joint onto the timing cover, header, and my boot. I thought it was high-temp stuff, but maybe not. I need to research what kind of grease needs to be in there and how much. I think the manual says "pack the chain cavity full" but that's a sh!tpotfull of grease so I did it about half full so that the chain is seeing grease all the time.

And I keep hearing funny rattly sounds under different loads, maybe just my imagination, maybe sheet metal, maybe a rod small end, maybe piston slap, maybe nothing. I went over the bike with a wrench in the parking lot just now and didn't find anything loose, so we'll see again tomorrow on the way to the rally.

Beautiful weather, beautiful mountain roads - VA 130 and VA 39, US219 and US250. Not much opportunity for pics, I'll take those at the camp.

Lannis, typing on a public computer in a Super 8 motel lobby.
