![[Linked Image]](http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m79/argpod/IMG_0282_zpse9o5pbtw.jpg) , correction, as you can see , Photobucket is scrambling links to 3rd party downloads, and holding free account users over a barrel to restore them. So much for "free" information, i suppose you get what you pay for.

I (we) are being blackmailed by Photobucket. All the photos that I have hosted on Photobucket have been disallowed and they are demanding $399 to allow 3rd party Hosting. Because we were not advised this when we started using the service, it seems we have no alternative than to pay their BLACKMAIL request or, too bad, they will no longer post our photos! Please spread the word. I for one, will not pay $399 to a website that may decide to make such demands, totally disregarding the customer, so all my posted photos (from Photobucket) will now be invisible! Tom

I just did a Google search. There are two pages of people receiving the exact same message and all their photos have been disabled, as well. I was using their free limited service, but as one person said, the all previous info on their service advised that photos could be shared on the internet.

Tom Yep, they've even killed my avatar picture here, so I've replaced the dude from Rednex with good ol' Chino. (I'm gonna have me one of those sweaters, caps, and another Hydra-Glide before I go). I'm not sure I've ever had anything of this nature done to me before; I didn't even get dinner or a kiss first .... I've been calling Photobucket a failing scam for two years on here and anyone that would listen; sometimes I don't like being right .... Lannis

Not got me yet, so I started to download all my pics today. I have joined https://postimage.io/ and will reload them all there and then the task of changing links begins. This is going to end badly for them I hope, why give you access to direct links so you can put them on a forum free for years and then suddenly ask for $399 per annum, as a strategy to completely piss off most of your members it will be 100% successful. I see they are even doing it to current paying members.

Thanks for the link John, will give postimage a try, photo bucket can take a jump at themselves.

I've never liked photobucket, too much nonsense.
Whether this is a DOS (denial of service) virus, or an illegal bait and switch scam by photobucket themselves doesn't matter.

I never had a problem with PB and I've been using them for 15 years or more and if my photos disappear it's no big deal they're still all on my hard drive, it's not like I am counting on PB to keep them safe.
When given the choice between two evils I picked the one I haven't tried before

I see they are even doing it to current paying members. Like I said earlier, I've had no issues with PB so far. I just looked at the site and the only thing that pops up is a recommendation to buy more (100 mb) storage at $9.99 a month. 835 images that I would prefer to not loose. So whats the best and quickest way to download? At a quick glance it looks like you would have to move them one at a time. Bill B...

Loss of photos is not really an issue, its the loss of the links. I have photos on photobucket linked to this forum, a couple of steam/model engineering forums, BSAOC forum, a couple of Aprilia forums, Greeves forum, Oldskool performance etc

Countless threads that were chock full of information and were available to everyone are now made worthless in one fell swoop by the greedy scum suckers at the Photobucket Site. I knew this day would happen sometime. Now it has. I am done with all internet forums. It has been a nice experience till now. Thanks all and good-bye!
