The shout box and that column as a whole takes up half my screen. I have tried logging in and out, restarted my laptop but it didn't go back to normal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have noticed that the page will have the "correct look" for a split second then it separates to two columns split down the middle.

"Are bikes so nice as all that?" asked the mole, shyly...

"Nice? They're the only thing," said the Water Rat Solemnly, as he leaned forward on the handlebars. "Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about with bikes."

Kevin
I believe it could happen because we show Random Gallery photos in the left column and have used different thumbnail sizes over the years.
I have manually decreased sizes from 300 pixels width to 200 px width.
Some thumbnails are as small as 160px widht.

This might help, if not then I might try to remove the Random Gallery photo from left comn to see what happen.

Hi Morgan, it also happens if links are posted in the shout box, as they have no character spacing it uses the maximum permisable space (half screen)

Hi Allan,

That might be your browser too. I'm using Avast SafeZone, which is based on OpenSource Chrome, and it splits "https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/59/Brainthatwouldntdie_film_poster.jpg/220px-Brainthatwouldntdie_film_poster.jpg" inside the Shout Box column width.

Hth.

Regards,

Hey Morgan-I have had to turn off all avatars and the shout box in order to read the forums text. The shout box takes up 1/2 the screen, and depending on the avatar it will cover the upper left corner of the post. I am using Explorer and since I'm on the company system I can't change or download anything else. Any ideas?

Appologies Morgan, I picked this up after I interveened. I removed those messages from the shoutbox using long URL's, I don't think this is a developer problem but the shoutbox not being used in the best possible way.

MikeG, the board should be easier to read now with avatars and shoutbox turned back on.

The shout box is Ok now, only takes up about a 1/4 of the page so I can read the forums without turing it off. Some but not all of the avatars however still overlap the text. The few I saw, Lannis', Wades' and Don Leamings',( yours too Morgan but that smiling face is an inspiration! :grin) all take up a great deal of the upper left corner of the post and cover the text.
