Our club was informed that Eddie Dow passed last Friday. Racer, after-marketeer and an inspiration for the Rocket Gold Star.

Sorry to hear, I used to go past his Banbury dealership a lot back in the late 80's.

Been to his shop in the 1970's his main activity was a Renault car dealer at the time, with the GS dept. on the top floor. RIP Eddie.

Went to look for his shop in Banbury while at the IoM in the mid-70's. I was expecting a bike shop and we (4 of us) kept driving up and down the main road. All we had was an address... this was well before GPS. Finally stopped and asked a local, who pointed at the bright yellow (how could you miss it) Renault car dealership !!

We sheepishly went to the parts counter and asked for a Gold Star pipe and muffler, which were quickly produced by the man behind the counter. Motorcycle parts from a car dealership. That cracked us up.

Don't hide 'em, Ride 'em !!
