Not sure if I'll be there this year. Agreed to take on the remodel from H E double hockey sticks. Moto Giro is the weekend before. Racing. Son's wedding. And last but certainly not least, my wife would like a little beach time. Y'all carry on!

Don't think they're "out", but from what I gathered from S.M.'s note to us, the villas have been re-modeled and re-furnished, and the sleeper sofas replaced with regular sofas ....

But don't worry, the beds are King beds ... if I can bunk in three different nights with Geordie Mike on an International trip, you guys can tough it out ....

"Where's your hand?" "Between two pillows ... ?"

"THOSE AREN'T PILLOWS!!!!"

Melissa, your post isn't really clear. Do all the villas have just one king in each or did the ones with 2 queens get replaced with 2 kings? Also, did the sleeper sofas get replaced with regular sofas?

Hey Bill. By the time I get to blowing rock, I will have been sleeping in a tent most of the week*. So sleeping on a carpeted floor will be paradise. I'll have my air mattress so villa is fine by me. Get enough people we can knock down the cost? Or split a room out front and drink on the porch within stumbling distance of a single bed.

*Please note the use of the future conditional tense. I don't often get to use this in writing but enjoy it when I can. 😇

I am willing to go for the Villa. I like the porch. I think I will hear from MikeG today. He plans on riding down so I'd guess he won't be bringing a cot. Wasn't Wade there with us last year too? Memory retrieval failure. Don't remember grammar that well either. Think that's presently relaxed tense.

Work permitting, I plan on being there and can team up on a Villa.

Bill, I roomed with you and Semper last year.

I will check to see if rollaway beds are available.

Okay obviously my mountain language confuses everybody so let's see if I can clarify the villa situation for everyone.

All four villas' have one king size bed in the bedroom and a regular couch and recliner is the sitting area now.

We do not have cots or roll aways but if someone brings an air mattress I will not protest.

So let me know what you want to do.

Sweet Melissa

Bill. I sleeps in recliners in Dallas moar often then not. If we need to hibernate in a villa so as to make moar space available for moar regular folk out front so as to appease sweet Melissa, then that's fine by me. Dave mikeG and wade are all acceptable villa mates. I will bring suitable libation for said group. I suspect they will as well. The loss of mblab to familial duties involving silicon grit and salt water is regrettable but understandable considering his extra-caricular racing activities. We will survive, glasses raised at the time appointed, in prayer that mblab will survive as well.

So say us all?

Already admitted to a memory issue...but I do remember you being there David. Just didn't remember which year. Consider it clarified, Melissa.
We have had four in there before, so bring a floor sleeping device. Two can share the king.

That's the spirit! By Gar, if I can share a 3/4 bed with a Geordie, and Ishmael could share a bed with a cannibal South Seas whale harpooner, some rufty tufty rockers can share a giant bed in Blowing Rock! ... 'Course, I got no dog in this particular fight, 'cause I'm already sharing mine ... !

I did, actually. cool

See, Rich was implying that I was sharing a room with someone besides Fay, and he was asking if she knew about it. Knowing Rich, I got that immediately. facepalm

I was playing his volley, implying that not only did Fay know about it, but that she was arranging it, what with our Swinging Lifestyle and all like that, since we're famous for our Open Marriage as part of our Progressive Millennial (not to say Continental) habits. blush

On the other hand, maybe we'll just stick with the old way, one more year anyhow ... beerchug

Will you be there for the festivities even if there's no such excitement? confused

You didn't need to explain all that. We could tell from all the radical ink, your man-bun hair style, and the way you carry your man purse that you were a swinging, metro-sexual, rock throwing, he's-not-my-president, fist-bumping, StarBucks burning type of dude.

Right arm, man ! laughing

Haven't been on the website for many months...so I read this long thread stretching back to November and immediately called Sweet Melissa for a reservation. Been doing some all consuming house remodeling but the end is in sight. I'll have to go see if I have a bike in the shed that will make the 200 mile run.

Missed my only ride last year do to medical stuff so Lannis is now the sole participant with perfect attendance.

Gonna try to get up there Thursday. When's the crowd get to the campground?

Mr Mike

Well, I didn't want to say anything, but (in retirement) Fay and I have changed our lifestyle a bit, had a bit of a "re-do" on hair, clothes, etc. so (to make sure you'll know us when we get to Blowing Rock), here's a pic ....
