Happy me! I just could not learn to like the 850 Commando so sold it off to buy this.
1088 miles from new so it is pretty well completely original except for the tires.
No. I will not be restoring it! I like that faded glory look.

Good move!

Sometimes a bike and you just don't "click". Nothing wrong with the bike, maybe, it's just that you never "bond" with it. I've had the same thing happen.

You look like you picked a winner this time! I agree; make sure the safety stuff like tires and tubes and suspension are good, and leave the appearance alone! Not many like that around.

OK, I admit it, I'm addicted to brake fluid.

But I can stop any time I want.

...hello man; for my eyes and for most here, your motorcycle is just pristine!
may be in USA is another one more, but not here.
Anyway; seems that the horn was put fronting to the other side.
Regarding the horn tab if may I, could you please take 2, 3 closer photos of the way that the horn is attached to the frame?
I still do not have a right answer.
The horns have 2 holes but the frame tab only 1; sometimes have a triangle tab that holds the horn to that frame tab but still you have 1 hole there...

Thanks in advance.

Very sweet deal. I especially like (among other things) the chrome front fender stays. Are they original?

Thank you all for the comments.
Tom D. I believe the fender stays are correct in chrome.
Tony. It Came from Rick Harret, he had it at his stall in the big room at Paris, next to Walridge's. I don't know where he got it but I would like to discover its history.
Couldn't help myself. Haven't had a triumph for 20 or more years and that was an oif.
We are on a camping trip 'til next Friday so haven't had a chance to do much with it, but hopefully it will be on the road next week. Can't wait!
Reverb. Will get some pics of the horn when I get home.
Cheers
Don

I saw the Triumph at Paris, but as I have one only gave it a glance. Very nice.

I do believe the chrome fender stays are correct. My unrestored 1970 TR6R has them also and I think they were standard on the painted fenders where the chrome/ s.s fenders had black stays.

Canadian bikes are different, I had a 72 T120 with chrome fenders. The local dealer (think it was Mcbrides) ordered them that way so chrome stays are not that far off.

Don, congratulations on finding such a lovely looking machine. Could I ask if both the front and rear mudguards are striped? It's something I have been unable to confirm for the 69 export model.

Thanks
Rod

The '69 TR6R had silver fender stripes outlined in gold pin striping. Faded glory may look different, though.

...Hello Don, looks like they used rivets on small holes.
Do not know why they never used the other big hole; no matter the bike model.

Thanks
