Hey guys i am seeking some assistance in tracking down a rear master cylinder for an 83 TSX.

Triumph # is 60-7626

From what Ive read the same one was used on some Ducatis, Guzzis, and Laverdas.

The part is made by Brembo and is possibly Brembo part #10.4776.65

I have called Klempf's and spoke to a guy their but he was on the other line and was pushing me away. He didn't say they had one but its listed on their site for a frightening $375.

BrtiOnly has them listed at $497 for new and $297 for used.

I also found this which is a Laverdas part "http://www.motalia.net/product_info.php?products_id=1573" and it looks very similar but it seems to be missing the lever at the rear.

I have also been able to find many with the Brembo # but none of them have the reservoir attached like the original.

I know i can find the cylinder and attach the reservoir separately but id like to keep as original as possible.

I have also sent the London Motorcycle Museum an E-mail because they have a TSX in their inventory and maybe they can confirm the Brembo part numbers if its stamped on.

I sent RegAllen and E-mail however i have inquired about this part back in December and have yet to hear from them.

Any assistance would be great.

A google search of the TSX master cylinder returned this picture.
That looks very similar to the Ducati 900SD item.
The actuating lever may vary.
I forget the bore size but you can buy kits as long as the bore is not corroded but even that could most likely be resleeved.

That number does not show.

More bikes and projects than you can shake a stick at but they should be done in two shakes of a lamb's tail.

That was some good info.

With that i also found a cross reference to Laverda and Bimota.

I copied all the numbers from late 70's to early 80's and searched all of them and found this site.

http://www.cyclebrakes.com/html/brembo_cylinders_4.html

3 of the 6 were rod activated so i nixed them, then 2 of the remaining 3 are angel mounted which the brake on the TSX is angel mounted.

With all of that i found this image

On that link it is most likely the 15 mm (bore) angle mounted version (a PS15 iirc)
The catch is a lot of those parts have become expensive in general.

I dont mind paying the extra $$ to have the correct part but at 375 to 500 i might as well cut my arm off lol.

I am wondering f these might work

http://www.stein-dinse.biz/Assortimento-completo/Prodotti-vari/Pompa-freno-posteriore-PS-13-inclinata-es-Ducati-Pantah::23731.html?language=it

http://store.commoto.com/rear-brake-pump-079741308.html

http://www.ktm-parts.com/079741308.html

I sent the second listing an e-mail to see if they can send me a image of the part so i can verify if t might be correct or not.

I have dealt with Stein Dinze, they answer questions within 2 to 3 days and in good English. I use them for Koni Ikon spare parts when I rebuild shocks and they sent me a full schematic drawing so I can identify the parts I need.

Look at the "Harris bonneville" post on triumph rat.
A guy has a bike with that brake and might be willing to look for id marks or take detailed pictures for you.
He also attached a parts list but it is triumph numbers , not brembo ones

An email to LF Harris might be answered with the brembo numbers but they tend to only speak to dealers and you are talking about a 30 year old part that is rare. They possibly don't have the knowledge in house compared to the current production of Meriden parts

Thanks i have taken a look at that thread and received quite a few replies this morning and here is what ive found.

Brembo #10.2928.00
complete master cylinder 60-7626
lever 83-8326
bushing 83-8327
seal kits 00-0072
pivot pin kit 00-0073
lid and bellows kit 00-0074

The last three numbers get cross referenced to differant nuts.

I was sent this link from the London Motorcycle Museum via Meridian4ever

http://www.norton-parts.com/a-28556889/master-cylinder-assy/rear-master-cylinder-assy/

And have sent them an E-mail.

I have found a similar pivot pin at TAW

http://www.tawperformance.com/sport...nd-replacement-levers/lever-pin-set.html

so now i need to find the lever and see if i can get my hands on some rebuild kits for later use.
