I dont think there is room enough in the jails , for all the drunks on maui ,
you gotta make quite a nuisance of yourself before the cops intervene .
Its more of a free range policy .

Sounds like you've been to my neighborhood. There's a boarding house next door where a group of 8-10 steel workers from Oahu live. They work on the new Solar telescope facility up on Haleakala. Every night, they sit on their asses and drink beer until they pass out whooping it up, telling jokes and laughing like hyenas. We've called the police, talked to them numerous times, nothing works.
What a life, eh? Or waste.....

They had the cajones to complain to my other neighbors one night about noise. They're from Mexico, nice people, and had a fiesta one night. We got a real good laugh out of that.

Cheers,

Bill

No. We do have genitalia. I keep mine in my sock drawer so it doesn't get lost. Back tracking to find body parts gets old.

I'm not drawing any parallels between those who ride Harleys with ape hangers and true monkeys and apes, but I'm sure it's just a foregone conclusion with many folks.

Kinda rude to monkeys is some cases...sorry to say.

Hands are below the shoulders by far, so hardly apes.

Besides, find me some ape-hangers that hinge and rotate at 3 points?

" Every Whichway But Loose " I think. Clint Eastwood's co star in this was Geoffery Lewis, who died a few months back.
A funny movie, I reckon.

GW riders can be asshats too.

One of the worst 'tudes I have run into are BMW riders. Talk about some serious 'tude. Why exactly? Upset because your final drive bearing failure wasn't covered by warranty?

Some vintage Brit owners fit the asshat category, especially if they fancy themselves as a rivet counter.

Some modern sport bike owners can be asshats. If you aren't on a sport bike you ain't s#!t 'Tude.

I have learned to ignore the asshats. There are some damn good people I have met that ride all type of bikes. Life is too short and precious to dwell on the losers, I prefer to dwell on the good people and good times.

I now return you to the regular programming

What Rich said. And my BMW final drive bearing is fine, thank you.

I agree about the Brit bike rivet counters can be asshats. This summer 2 guys walked up to my triumph, first guy says "wow, nice bike". Second guy says"yeah, too bad about that powder coating and stainless steel spokes. Makes it look too shiny". I didn't say anything, but it kinda irked me a little. Turned out the guys' a judge at bike shows.

moby dick:

Quote:
Chapter 95 - The Cassock

A picture for the book Moby-Dick; or, The Whale

Had you stepped on board the Pequod at a certain juncture of this post-mortemizing of the whale; and had you strolled forward nigh the windlass, pretty sure am I that you would have scanned with no small curiosity a very strange, enigmatical object, which you would have seen there, lying along lengthwise in the lee scuppers. Not the wondrous cistern in the whale's huge head; not the prodigy of his unhinged lower jaw; not the miracle of his symmetrical tail; none of these would so surprise you, as half a glimpse of that unaccountable cone,- longer than a Kentuckian is tall, nigh a foot in diameter at the base, and jet-black as Yojo, the ebony idol of Queequeg. And an idol, indeed, it is; or rather, in old times, its likeness was. Such an idol as that found in the secret groves of Queen Maachah in Judea; and for worshipping which, King Asa, her son, did depose her, and destroyed the idol, and burnt it for an abomination at the brook Kedron, as darkly set forth in the 15th chapter of the First Book of Kings.

Look at the sailor, called the mincer, who now comes along, and assisted by two allies, heavily backs the grandissimus, as the mariners call it, and with bowed shoulders, staggers off with it as if he were a grenadier carrying a dead comrade from the field. Extending it upon the forecastle deck, he now proceeds cylindrically to remove its dark pelt, as an African hunter the pelt of a boa. This done he turns the pelt inside out, like a pantaloon leg; gives it a good stretching, so as almost to double its diameter; and at last hangs it, well spread, in the rigging, to dry. Ere long, it is taken down; when removing some three feet of it, towards the pointed extremity, and then cutting two slits for arm-holes at the other end, he lengthwise slips himself bodily into it. The mincer now stands before you invested in the full canonicals of his calling. Immemorial to all his order, this investiture alone will adequately protect him, while employed in the peculiar functions of his office.
