I want to put a stock air filter setup on my '73 TR7RV project. It looks like the tabs are still on the frame. My question is, will the air boxes from a 1971-1972 fit and line up? I see lots of them at the swap meets.

Thanks for any insights.

(The bike came with a pair of fiberglass retro pod side covers, I'll be selling them with some of the other parts that came with the bike.)

Of course they will fit. Just match air box to head single or dual carb.

On The other hand if I'm wrong my good friend Stuart will tell you so. grin

According to Service Bulletin 398 (April 1972) the lowering of the frame seat rail at CG50414 (during the 1972 production season) resulted in the introduction of several new components-including both the single and twin carb air box bodies and cover panels.

Thanks, KADUTZ, L.A.B., maybe if I can get a set of the 71-72 boxes cheap enough, I'll give it a try. In the meantime, I'll search for the '73 as well.
