Does anybody know if it's possible to buy cadmium plated spokes and if so where? I need a complete set of straight spokes or at least 20 spokes as replacement. Diameter 10 S.W.G. = 3,2mm. Length 7-3/8" = 18,7cm and/or 7-7/16= 18,9cm. Should be for an 18" wheel with a QD-hub used on a BSA A65 Lightning 1967. Thanks for any information and help!
Rgrds,
Rembo

Hi,

Central Wheel Components (www.central-wheel.co.uk) might be able to help, if you don't find a closer supplier closer. However, although the appearance will be indistinguishable from cadmium, their plated spokes are likely to be zinc. Otoh, they also sell 'unpolished' (aka 'dull') stainless spokes which, again, are pretty much indistinguishable from cadmium-plated, but won't go rusty in the future.

Hth.

Regards,
