Wonder if anyone knows where the patent decal goes on a featherbed frame?

I've seen them on the upper curve of the left frame tube adjacent to the battery box.
Yet to fit mine!

In the curve, or top of the curved frame where it flattens ?

Bill,

I also have a 1967 Atlas. Mine is quite original, only updates have been the tank was re-sprayed over 20+ years ago (how the candy red faded) and the seat was rebuilt due to the seat foam crumbling and stitching wearing out. What "patent decal" are you referring to? I can find no decals on a frame rail by the battery box. I'd be happy to send you pictures of decal placement if I can help.

Here is a link to the pic of decal I was wondering about...I also wondered where the "oil recomendation" decal goes...Any pics you could supply with decal location on your bike would be appreciated...

Finishing installation of a Dyno Dave clutchrod seal today...All I need now is my clutch cable to arrive and I'll be able to button this thing up and wait for a nice day to take for a breakin ride..High of 20F and low of -2 here today...Brrrrrr

Sorry to say it, but I'm unable to find any patent label on my bike. I removed the seat and checked all over the tubing by the battery box without any success. Any other suggestions on where it might be?

As to the "Recommended Oil Level" label, it is centered directly above the top rib on the side of the oil tank. Do you know that there is another decal on the forward side of the oil tank? Mine is mostly wore off, but I believe it is recommended types of oil. You can see both decals on page 61 in Roy Bacon's Norton Twin Restoration book. Hope this helps.

By the way, what color choice did you make for the tank? They came in silver, red, black and green (67 only). I know someone who has a NOS green one that he talks about selling but can't decide on a price.
