Have a 63 Triumph T120R basket case, it's there in most part but mostly disassembled. The condition is good enough to work with and the only major components missing is the fuel tank (do have a tank just not the correct one) The cylinder is also no good. The cases and motor internals are fine (while disassembled). I can also include another spare 70 bottom end if someone wants any parts from it.

Frame and motor correct have a clear title for the bike.

Interested in BSA singles, and Pre-Unit triumphs.

Some of the parts. 100% of the motor lower end is in the file cabinet below it.

Are you sure that's a '63? I thought the '63 had one year only footpegs and frame. That looks a little layer. Would you mind posting some numbers?

That is a 63. Look closely where the bottom rear section bolts to the front. Of the two bolts, the front one has a tapered lug that holds the footrest. Hard to see because the nut is attached.

Yeah but the foot pegs shown are net for a '63.

Got a request for a front end pick. Also has both wheels and most all other parts not pictured.

@Boomer: Yeah rider pegs I don't think are correct. I have a few different sets though. Might have the right ones.

Boomer: And here I thought the question was if the "bike" was a 63. It's a basket case & I'm sure there will be some mix & match parts thrown in there. Give OLS a little consideration for trying to find a good home for a rare model year Bonneville. And... what exactly does " net for a 63 " mean ?

lol! come on tracker! you don't think he meant not, rather than a typo net?

and sure, I give OLS credit for trying to find a good home for his basket case. but he is not giving it away, he is offering it in trade. which of course is bizznezz deal. so why shouldn't asking about what one might be getting in that deal be considered a lack of consideration?

Can't say I've ever seen a frame number stamped in that arrangement on a Triumph...

...also can't say I've ever seen a '63 frame/stamping, so...

That frame was used for the 1963 and 1964 model years. So it is a period frame. Notice no horn bracket extension on the head steady bracket.

No opinion on frame number, but engine number looks good. Bobby Sullivan has a brace of 1963 Triumphs. You could contact him about the location of the numbers on the frame.

The important part of the oil tank for 1963 (lower bracket) is hidden under rh side panel. If that is missing it is hard to find the right one.

The rear fender looks good, although you cannot see if it was cut below the license plate. These sell as repop's for a lot of money.

The chain guard is a one year only and it would add to the value if that was there.

The right crankcase has a welch plug, instead of a threaded plug (1963 only), where the case is drilled to allow the cam plate spindle hole to be drilled.

Overall not a bad bit of kit for a rare year Triumph, especially if the right foot pegs are there and the oil tank has the proper bracket. If it wasn't so far away I would at it with the intention to swap.

I had a 63 in the past and that is the correct spot for the frame vin.

I have seen other 1963 frames with the numbers in that exact location as well. Not to mention everything else I can see indicates it is a '63 frame.

While I agree this is the right frame for 1963 (because of the frame number), the exact same frame was used in 1964. Without the frame number you cannot tell them apart.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll look tomorrow to see if the fenders been cut and if the oil tank is proper tomorrow. Possibly have the chain guard as well.

Hey OLS, While you're looking if you see some footpegs with a Triumph foot end but stirrup shape going to the frame with a tapered end to fit the frame, those are you foot pegs. They went underneath the exhaust pipes and mounted on the taper fitting 750 Tracker was referring to.

HTH

The oil tank is correct, and the rear fender is uncut.

No luck on turning up the pegs yet.

HTH (Does that mean hope that helps?)

Thanks.

HTH Or hope that hurts, either.

Anyway, I have a '63 frame DU 1018 stamped exactly like yours. I also have a few parts for it like foot-pegs that you MIGHT be able to pry out of my hands.

I don't have the motor.

The '63 is a great bike, half pre-unit parts, half new unit parts. The only unit bike with Chronometric instruments.

I'm not hot on the Bonneville color for that yea; bland white, but the TR6 looks stunning in Regal Purple.

Hope someone does it justice.

Bill
