This bike was covered extensively in a previous thread. A couple of months ago he listed it at an extreme price and mysteriously took it down.

If you like these bikes, you'll enjoy this thread.

I don't know, it's to expensive (and pretty) to ride or race.

Probably aught to just give it to Barber or one of the other museums, take a take write off and let everyone enjoy it.

Oh, sorry 'bout that... Just ran across it and thought I'd post a link. Pretty cool bike, but priced not to sell, eh? Looks like it was removed from eBay too. Maybe someone just getting advertising out there so someone will make an "off eBay" offer?

Seems like it would be cheap worldwide advertising... wink

Too valuable to race though. This year I don't see much for Brit bikes being raced around here. Used to always have 2 or 3 Tri twins and a BSA or two in out local Vintage Open Twins class. The show was taking too long and they eliminated a couple of the vintage classes, like the Vintage Open Twin Trophy (Minimum age 30 years old), Vintage Masters (50 years of age & up), Vintage Seniors (60 years of age & up) and they were the ones on vintage Brits... Too bad! My 500 ft project got blown out of the water too, by a 601cc lower displacement limit this year.

Just rambling now,
Kyle

That's the second time he has listed it for over 90 thousand dollars and immediatly taken it down. That to me is unacceptable, cynical behaviour.
Does eBay let you do that for no payment?

I wouldn't pi** on that bike now. Plus that fat front downtube is ugly.

That bike doesn't look anything like the bike that Alex ran at Ascot..Although I haven't talked to Ron in sometime now, I don't think he made a big tube frame like that..The last time I was there he had Jeff from C&J frames making his frames and CR Axtell did the motors...I am starting to think it is a fake...Take a look at the other thread and check out the nice double down tube on the one Alex has side ways.....

Cheers

In fact now that I am on a roll dose that look like Mikunis on there.. when he always ran DelOrtos
That frame looks like my old Trackmaster Norton but I had an aluminum barrel and a Joe Hunt mag.
I know he put together a ready to run bike for an artist that was going to hang it in his studio. Maybe this is the bike..

Cheers

Although I am against the behaviour of this eBay guy, I believe that is definitely one of the two large downtube frames that Ron Wood built.
I do not believe that Trackmaster ever made a frame with a large front down tube.

Hrmm somebody must have the URL of the two large
(dented) downtubed bikes, eh?

David Atherton raced a nice Norton at Frankfort IN
last weekend.

eBay specials are still nice I guess, they just
smell like paper and sound like nothingness, though....

DD,
Now that one looks useful! Is that a dry trackmaster frame? With the narrow backbone? (I'm trying to figure out what kind of tank fits my similar frame)

Thanks for posting the pics and good luck in your IFTA efforts. Maybe someday I'll wander over to a race. Though I don't know what I'd do on a track thats not banked...

A couple more...

Do you really need to yell? If you own the other one it would be nice to know a little bit more about it, pictures etc.

Easy Duc, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any more 'nasty' comments from these forum members, I don't know what forums you've been visiting but here it really doesn't work that way, these people are true enthusiasts and not self proclaimed experts and if a few comments caught you wrong then I'm sure it wasn't meant as a personal attack. Even Thundair admitted he was having a 'senior' moment and got it wrong and as far as the eBay thing goes, if you've spent much time buying and selling on eBay you will understand where some of those comments came from, that stuff happens all the time. You have a really nice Norton there and it doesn't matter what it costs if that is what you really want, life is to short and there are to few Ron Woods Nortons to go around...please enjoy this forum for the really good people that frequent it, it truly is one of the best around...Mark
