In that year, the first year of Superbike, Triumph riders managed top 10 finishes 3 times against BMWs, Ducatis, and big Japanese 4s.
The riders were James Haverlin (or Haberlin), and Steve Maloney.
Was that Steve from TT Motors in Berkeley?
I'd like to see some pictures of those machines.
Anyone point me to an article or web site?

No luck, Mule. Searched for a few minutes at lunch. But I did find race results:
Jim Haberlin, LaCanada CA, 5th at Laguna Seca Aug 1st
Steve Mallonee, Venice CA, 8th at Riverside Int'l Raceway Oct 3rd

Okay, found this French? website:
#119?

Thanks- it took a lot of dedication to race those Triumphs against Ducatis...and the accumulated expertise of generations of American Triumph racers...
I admire them.
