This very Sunday, down there in Sunny Brighton, the Sunbeam club is holding their 75th Pioneer run, that's all them Olde Worlde bikes that are at least 100yrs old...

And due to me being a steering wheel attendant, our wonderful Government has got involved with the rest of Europe, and even though I've been doing what I do for over 31yrs. I've got to have some *Training* and so I'll be missing this wonderful event.. mad

First one I've missed in over 20yrs, what a bunch of Bar Stewards eh..?

So I'm sending out a plea, could SOMEONE please remember to take their camera, and do a report on the event..? I'll need something to get me back from the land that time forgot, then I'll repay y'all with a report from the Snow Mann, which is happening the Sunday after this.. grin

Then it all kicks off, the Bull, BSA camps, VMCC camps, Britbike camp, the Donkey Rally, more BSA camps, and everything in-between.. :bigt

Just got to get over missing the Pioneer.. frown

Can't get out of it that easy Keith lad, if I did that I'd have to got to Gatwick for the course, and if I miss that they'd make me go somewhere else, all at my expense. And if I miss too many, I wouldn't get the card with me photo on, and THAT would mean I wouldn't be able to drive a truck, ANYWHERE for anyone even as an owner driver.. shocked

Well what can I say..?

Disappointed, more than flabbergasted, in fact my Disa, has never been so Pointed.. shocked

ALL bloody day Sunday, I was sat in that Hell Hole, surround by bored numbties, every now and then, I'd get a Whatsapp photo of the Pioneer sent to the Crab Peeler. A 'Taster' of the wonderful day the lads were having, then off to France Monday. HOPING to see all them wonderful photos in Glorious Technicolor on here, rushed home to find...

BUGGER ALL.. mad

And I'm buggered if I know how to get the photos I DO have, out of the Whatsapp thing, and on to here.. mad

BLIMEY, it's not MUCH to ask is it..? I think an explanation is well in order here dudes, I blame the Hairy Mong, he's gone all *Funny* now he's got that Hardly.. mad

Shaun,

Try to load the whatsapp pix into your photobucket app. THEN load em onto here.
However, I will say that TWO count em T-W-O people posted words saying they WENT to this event- no strike that was it THREE?
AND not a single one of them two or three posted ANY pix.
AFTER you came on and said you couldn't make it so would SOMEONE go, co me home, and post pix.

I got one word:
WTF.

"It is no measure of health, to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

Can't even remember how to get a photo from a text, and onto here, yet I KNOW I used to be able to do it.. mad

It's an *Age* thang going on here dude, what I need is a 5yr old to show me.. laughing

Oh sod it, I give up, can't be arsed any more with it. Anyway they'll only start asking for bloody passwords, and I'm NOT going THERE again.. mad

involved with the rest of Europe ... to have some *Training*

... so you lot remember we ride on the right and you on the wrong?

Shaun, I think you just love this.
I mean without this, what would you have to kick at?

Which reminds me... I have to renew my safety ticket.
I teached the stuff...
I wrote about 25% of the multiple choice exam questions...
Last exam I walked out of the sweat room after seven minutes with a 98 % score (some desk idiot in Brussels - in a grey suit and brown shoes - changed the maximum ladder length without telling me)...
Another year and a half I will retire...
I have to renew my safety ticket... mad

Ger lad, my *Training* wasn't doing anything, just sat in a class room chatting, all we had to do was waste the day, I REALLY mean it. We just sat there doing bugger all, just in case an inspector came along.. mad

And while loads of people are off on a long Easter weekend, I've got another 2 days at the wheel to do, so all in all, that's SEVEN whole days on the trot. And European Law states that truck drivers can't *Work* 7 continuous days, funny that isn't it..? IF, I was a money Grabber, I'd not be able to work, but now THEY want me to work, I HAVE too.. mad mad

12yrs and I'm free, FREE I tells ya FREE. Unless I join the escape committee.. wink

And ALL I wanted was to see what I was missing, and NO bugger posted any photos.. frown

Shaun, I must say I'm surprised that you've never gotten into one of those really old bikes just for a lark. Hand oil pump, belt drive, carbide lamps, all that. You'd enjoy pobbling down the road in that long duster, flat cap, big gloves, and old round goggles.

And as much work as you've done on your A10, the veteran bike would be a lot easier to work on!

Lannis

I stopped believing for a little while this morning. Journey is really going to be upset.

Lannis, You've done it! A new record! 8000 posts.
A height to aspire to...
After RF Whatley and John Healy, of course.

Lannis lad, I WAS thinking about it, then that Humber Nut we know let me ride he's Humber, and, although it was BRILLIANT. It's NOT for me, I like me touring too much, a fully freighted bike, loaded to the Gunwhales with me camping gear. And a long ride ahead, that's me lad.. :bigt

And I'm getting a hankering for a trip, just glad it's the start of the 'Season' and that type of thing is but a few moments away.. grin

Now get off this, and get to fettling, over 8000 posts, INDEED.. mad

Shaun, I did not get there either, my tenancy in Seaford expired on the 28th of April. However I did find some pictures from 1977. Scanned from slides, and the only real vintage bikes I have. Of course, now, anything from 1977 IS vintage!

Attached Files 1977 Brighton Run 1913 962cc Williamson, Hickstead Little Chef.jpg1977 Brighton Run, 1913 499cc Triumph, Madeira Drive.jpg

Mike, home is where we moor it.
